Tramguy
A very short list this year. No TTC venues so far. Here's the link: http://www.doorsopenontario.on.ca/Events/Toronto.aspx
Cimon8000
very suprising TTC is not participating this year...........I missed the McCowan Carhouse visit last year which I really wanna go this year but seems no hope for that, luckily I still participated the Greenwood Carhouse and Hilcrest visit last year
T3G
http://www.toronto.ca/doorsopen/ states that the building roster will be announced at the end of April. Whether that means that this is NOT the full list of participating locations or otherwise, I don't know, but I certainly hope that the TTC opens something for the public to see. Be a right shame if they didn't.
63 Ossington
Usually the full list isn't released until the beginning of May. It would be disappointing if the TTC end up not participating though.
eja2k
Staff resources will be thin that weekend as it is supposed to be the 3rd closure of the Yonge line for the King Station project. I wouldn't be suprised if the TTC sat this one out.

I wouldn't be suprised if the TTC sat this one out. I realized this as well a couple weeks ago. I wonder if the TTC will consider moving the closure to the following weekend (June 2-3) seeing as how there will be an increased ridership going to all the Door Open tours downtown. Don't count on it, these things are set well in advance for staffing requirements (especially 'specialists' like T&S and Signals personnel) people's holidays/work shifts have had to be changed to accommodate this work, and those sorts of things are locked in months in advance - vacation time off etc.
buschic
It already has been confirmed that TTC will NOT be at People in Motion, which is something they have NEVER missed until this year.. according to ACAT sources, the Doors Open even is on the chopping block as well.. ttcbusdude
Funny if they don't have the resources for that but they can still keep the Roadeo going. I was being told that there might not be a rodeo this year because of budget issues and Rob Ford
Bus_Medic
They're canvassing for participants in the the mechanics and driving competitions as I write this. So yes, it's a go.

I'm hearing the same in my circle of friends, most are QSY & Arrow drivers, some M.D as well, all say, yeah, Roadeo is a go, just not as big, not as much stuff going on... I know one of the field judges too, he's already been going around for a while now, about the Rodeo..
T3G
Speaking of the rodeo, I understand that, in writing, it's only for bus drivers and their families (hence: Family Day). If you aren't a/related to a bus driver, but you still show up, what will happen? Do you get kicked out? Never been to one before so I don't know the exact policy. Bus_Medic
Gate crashing is generally frowned upon there, but I haven't heard of anyone actually being escorted out. I don't bother going anymore....too many irritating people and co workers I'd rather not see at work, let alone my day off. The petting zoo smells anyway. T3G
I see. I'll have to weigh my options, then, I guess. Thanks for the answer.
pccstreetcar4549
only roncesvalles is listed as a doors open site this year, but given this thread, and the non doors open tours getting cancelled not a surprise http://wx.toronto.ca/inter/culture/doorsopen.nsf/BuildingsAll?OpenView&count=

Edit: for the sake of keeping my facts straight, it is a scaled back version this year. There is a driving competition only, no maintenance competition this time. Articulated
lol - are you allowed to operate the bus for the Roadeo with a G1 and supervision? Because previous years there were people with just a G taking the buses on the course. No. The TTC Roadeo is open to TTC employees only, and the driving competition is only open to those employees who qualified.

Archer
So other than TTC employees and their families - you can't show up correct? What about if you are a fan of the TTC No offense, but if it's meant for TTC employees, then it should only be for TTC employees.

Also my previous account, waterburn was banned for no apparent reason. I got no notice whatsoever. I also tried contacting the admins without any result. It would be appreciated if I was at least notified of the reason or my account should be unbanned. You do know that you are in violation of the board rules by making another account? and pointing out that you made another account probably isnt the smartest thing to do....
