I guess they want to push the series 10 purchase... That's going to be years away. Half the U2 fleet has been wiped out!
downbeat
Is it a "push" (that is, deliberate decision not to repair or to allow accelerated decay) in hopes of creating a customer backlash and forcing politicians to fund replacement vehicles? Or is it an inability to fix because of the lack of parts and whatnot? Or maybe a bit of both?

Those 40-ish U2's will have to be kept running a lot longer now...At least another 3 years until funding apparently comes available again. :-< 1

OR by the time they do the S200 will be a discontinued model and we'll have to buy a new, incompatible design.

Maybe this one is headed to the Library for kids to crawl all over.

I spotted it going South on Ogden road at Highfield Blvd that day too. I got photos but not nearly as good as the above images. I watched the truck turn in towards Recon. TechSpotlight
A buddy of mine spotted it in their property yesterday, looks like their machinery have already put a dent into it!
TechSpotlight
Also to be mentioned.... only 2002A is at Recon Metals. 2002B is seen fenced in at a property in Ramsay.
Pantograf
2002B is actually 2009B if I remember correctly. That's probably as close as Ramsey is going to get to having LRT.

Pantograf
I knew I had a 50% chance of getting it right... so the 2 cars ended up as 2009A+2002B=car 2009 and 2002A+2009B=car 2002 The 3rd car damaged in the 7th ST accident was 2007.

TechSpotlight
2005 is now sitting in the U2 boneyard at Oliver Bowen not looking in the best of shape. All the other cars in that line seem to be already retired cars. Edited May 26, 2020 by TechSpotlight
LRT
2037 Is one of many lined up at Oliver Bowen. She’s done and awaiting disposal I believe 2055 is being used for shunting cars around. 3 1

LRT
Car 2083 the final U2DC purchased by Calgary transit sits outside on track 30 “plugged in” Idling awaiting its fate. It’s been left for dead, powered up humming away heavily cannibalized not knowing that there will be no next stop but the jaws of a wrecker. Enjoy the final pictures of the final U2 And I have no idea why they are all sideways 5 1
