This was on Stanley ave for more context. it was on the 602 Blue Line, they had issues with the signs when they first started using the conventional NF artics on WEGO routes earlier this year
TechnicianKeith
An odd sight in Welland: St Catharines 0807 parked off to the side downtown. Not sure if it's here as a report unit for the day or a loaner.

TechnicianKeith
Hearing from Carla Stout, manager of Niagara Transit, that the new buses that have been ordered will be the first in the fleet with the new Niagara Transit branding. Stout says 19 40' Novabus units and 11 paratransit units have been ordered and are set to arrive through the first half of 2025 "to support a fleet that is an average of 9 1/2 years old." TechnicianKeith
EDIT: according to still shots from CP24, the unit involved was 1850. One driver I spoke with this morning says the transit driver involved was conscious awaiting surgery for a broken leg. Â Welland has lost another unit, and three are dead after a serious collision between the Port Colborne Link and a pickup truck on Saturday night along Highway 58. Transit driver airlifted to put of town hospital. One transit passenger taken to hospital with serious injuries. https://www.610cktb.com/news/three-people-dead-following-fatal-head-on-collision-with-bus-in-welland.html
MaT
I skimmed the pages for the answer, I possibly missed it. But the ex WEGO 40ft buses, is it all of the 40ft WEGOs or only certain ones? That will be rebranded to local services. Thanks!

But it would be the remaining 40ft units under transit ownership which will receive the new Niagara Transit branding. The two originally delivered to NPC (9010-11) and the one already transferred to NPC (9012, ex-5304) will stay with NPC for WEGO services.

From what I have been told, 3 of the 5200 series articulated units will also be kept by Niagara Transit, the others will be transferred to the Parks Commission. It looks like unless otherwise the original fleet numbers will be kept. Also 1397 has now left for refurbishment.
