Ok here we go again!

***AMENDED SEPTEMBER 2010 - PLEASE READ***

NO BS No junk reports please! The game rules are pretty straight forward:

A.) Don't give me a list of which D60LFs are on 98 B-Line.........special sightings only!

By the definition of special sightings, here are a few guidelines:

1.) Refurblished buses - please post in "Translink Refurbishments" thread

2.) Buses that are waiting to get refurblished - see above

3.) New ad-wraps - please post in "Ad wrap reports" thread

4.) Ad wraps that are taken off - see above

5.) Garage transferring - use discretion on this one, if it's just a bunch of D40LFs moving around please use the "garage transfers" thread.

6.) Buses on routes that can be rarely seen (eg: Orion V on 98 B-Line)

7.) New buses

8.) Retired buses - use retirement watch thread, this has been common practice for a while already.

9.) Buses that are put into storage - pretty much amounts to the same as above.

Again please use your own judgement on the meaning of special sightings.........if the list you're typing up takes you more than 10 minutes, then please reconsider about what you're trying to post as nobody really wants to read an essay about the routes that all the D40LFs are running in town that takes 15 minutes to read!

Post pictures whenever possible!

Good luck, and have fun in this topic!

Thanks to a friend of mine for keeping me updated while I'm out-of-town!

The newest refurb on the road right now is Richmond's R7150..........meanwhile R7130 is (or was) back on the roads after being sent over to STC for repairment on the rotten floor.

End-of-report

News for C40LFR, 3315 & 3318 were been the revenue service this week~~

3315 @ 169

3318 @ 189

And one rumour from the driver in PCTC about D40LF currently allocated in PoCo, 73xx might be possible to move to the new VTC at this September~~

Diesels go to Poco division? That's not very likely to happen..........my guess would be the 7300s would move to Oakridge (or VTC :) ) while the new cummins diesels would go to Burnaby (as Burnaby stores a bunch of ISC D40LFs already)..........perhaps the 1998 goes to Richmond and Surrey. Another way to work this out would be moving all the 7300s to Surrey (so 7300s become Surrey's exclusive), the redesigned diesels go to Burnaby / Vancouver, the remaining diesellizes in Poco all go to North Van, and the current Poco 1998 D40LFs go to Richmond / Vancouver.

Btw Bill, you better find someday to go check out what's going on in the BTC-overhaul!

Oh well, I mean 73xx might be move from PCTC to VTC, coz' 100 will increase to 15 mins and more improvement for UBC services~~

For 7247-7249, 7288-7297, I guess they will go to STC or BTC to replace their Classic (BTC would be possible due to they have a lot of non w/c Classics) instead Richmond (coz' Richmond have too many buses at there already)~~

And the dieselize C40, of course, they'll go to NVTC after the Sweep C40LF re-actived~~

Richmond garage is not full to capacity. VTC, however, will be from day one. :)

I don't think one should rule out any buses being transferred to RTC, they've got the room.

You didn't just see "one of those" in the background... you saw "the one"! :P 2040, a 1948 Brill T-44 preserved by the Transit Museum Society. There is also a diesel version preserved - BC Electric 3405.

Apparently, there are 4 Brills (2 Trolleys- 2040 & 2416 + 2 Diesels- 3405 & 3406) preserved by TRAMS, except 3406, those 3 Brills were used to be for some activities before~~

ya, even though RTC still have more space for more buses, but the buses allocated in RTC are more than enough for it~~ ;):P

You've got to be kidding me. With the 98 and 480 to run? There's already crush loading on those routes (and my home route 491 :P ), what we need is more artics. Then again BTC and PCT can't really afford to give any of those up...

SkyTrain was down for a few hours on Monday due to 'electrical problems' between Edmonds and Nanaimo. Giggle, snort.

Gosh, I love overtime.

Well that explans why i got stuck on the skytrain between Royal Oak and Edmonds on Monday :P . And by the time i got to edmonds my ticket expired like 2 hrs ago :P . Oh yea and i also saw P3318 on the 155 today, but i didn't get any pics because i forgot to bring my camera with me.

I have no idea how can Translink manage to make 98 more frequent with no extra buses, while the traffic on No.3 Road and Granville Avenue is getting worse day by day.

Here are a few solutions that I can think of:

A.) Run extra trips with 40-footers

B.) Tighten the drivers' schedule, hopefully the driver would work some magic out somehow (This would be Translink's favourite solution I bet :D)

C.) Buy more artics (hey, there are always 2nd-hand D60s from Community Transit, just 2 hours away from Vancouver! :D )

D.) Run 488/492 during mid-day as well, but short-turn them at Richmond Centre (that should help relief the ridership of 98)

Second way - Instead of trying to work more buses out, move away the obstacles that are wasting everybody's time (The anti-transit people in this case :P )

Pro: Get those traffic off the road and increase ridership, reduce emission produced by vehicle engines

Here are a few ways to do this:

A.) Make the individual drivers pay - set up tolls along certain streets of the city (In this case: No.3 Road, I'm pretty sure there are alot of ways to get to one's destination along No.3 Road without using No.3 Road) I believe this method is currently being used in London, UK........where buses always have to fight for roads with cars

B.) Set up a bus-lane on No.3 Road (which is barely possible, as there are only 2 lanes each direction)

Very creative eh? :D

That's normal. Some of them usually do one trip as a 002 before becoming a 311, 351, 601, etc.

New depot in 4 days. Do I get to tell funny stories I've heard here?

I don't see why not, as long as they aren't going to get you (or the board in general) into trouble with Translink staff. :P
