Two other doors on that car have different grab bar configurations as Tech Services are trying to find the best solution to improve street level access on the 9's. Of course, pending favorable feedback, similar setup can be used on the 10's. Ahhh... that’s cool but I don’t agree about the stanchion in the middle of the doorway. As I wrote earlier, that particular design will not be used and the other two options do not include a center-mounted stanchion.
nsCEO
The S200s have RFID on the operator cards so are all are all CT operator cards RFID chipped and the LRT operators cards are given access to open the cab and enable the controls? Or similar? Also does the OTMR log all events such as Cab doors opening and cab "initializations" with the specific operators card used? Similar to building access control? Has Calgary Transit accepted that car or does Siemens still own it, or use it for other testing purposes? The last one of our first batch (former parts car 2033) finally got accepted last august, but Siemens promptly chose that car to use as a test rig for everything else (it had just gotten its interior finally finished, but then they ripped it out again to install new seats), and it still hasn't entered service. chills_on_the_train
I wonder if we get to see another larger-than-life-size Jeremy Clarkson plastered on a train promoting the latest Grand Tour. What a horrorshow.

You probably meant 2443... the new driver's seat in one of the cabs is for operators to test and to provide feedback as it is intended for the Series 10s. So far, we got 26 out of 72 refurbs back with only 6 more 'Series 6' left to do. The rest are all Series 7s. It took nearly 2 years to get the first 15 S200s in so if the Series 10 cars really start coming in next year, we will be well into 2024 before the order is complete so the U2s will have to be around until at least then.
Bonnybrook_Rd
Noticed this modified grab bar configuration on door 4 of car 2443. Is this the finalized design from the tests for better street access (as mentioned in this thread previously) or is this just some "in the field" testing? 1
