That was only because it was damaged in a collision. AN459 retirement hasn't started, but Big tree and Hilton aren't using them as much as they used to. The XD60 pilot is supposed to be arriving soon but production units don't arrive until winter so the Neoplans aren't going anywhere for now.

Ah I see. Since WMATA's Neoplans AN460s only lasted 12-13 years, thought it would've been the same with NJ Transit ones too.

I also seen 5638 running on Route 119 in the NJ Transit colors, isn't 5631-5637 still under Olympia Trails or now operated under New Jersey Transit or Academy Bus Lines?

I have no idea, but that explains why I have not seen 5638 running along 42nd St in Manhattan for a while now.

From other sites, 5759, 6473, and 6477 were transferred from A/C Bus to NJ Transit, probably because the #4 route is now discontinued. Have other units gone back too?

Is there a link, video, or picture for this? I haven’t seen 5757, 5759 or 5760 run for A&C Bus Corp last time I was in NJ. I did see 5920-5923 though (5919 was mysteriously retired idk why). Also I thought I seen 6473 and 6477 when I was in NJ and if they were to send buses back to NJ Transit they might as well give 6463-6464 instead. But idk.

Surprised no one posted pics of the new Xcelsior artics, yet.

Here's a link to some pics since the pics aren't mine from Facebook.

I saw it via NYC Transit Forums

Saddle River tours will cease operations on Jan 24. All their D4500CTs will be a split between NJ Transit and Academy Bus Lines I heard. 18118-18119 will head to Meadowlands I heard and the rest will go to Academy Bus Lines. All the bus movements are currently on NYC Transit Forums right now.

So this has been discused in great length in facebook and other forums, but there hasn't been much discussion on the new artic deployment for NJT here so I thought i'd start the discussion.

Starting in mid-April, the following routes are going New Flyer: 123, 125 (Via interlined trips w the 123), 126, 128, 156, 158, 159. I assume the 154 will also fall into this category (though it is not explicitly mentioned in the article, like the 125) because at present Fairview sticks Neoplans on the 154 (Even though they're not supposed to be there...). FWIW this means that Meadowlands Garage (123,125, 126, 128) and Fairview Garage (128, 154, 156, 158, 159) are getting the new artics. The 320 is also supposed to go artic on weekends and given that it's a Meadowlands Garage route, it's looking like that could also start happening in mid-April.

I'm, not sure when the 13, 39, and 70 are supposed to start transitioning to New Flyers, aside from 20801 and 802 which run in service every now and then (Not sure if 20803 has graduated from training/prep into occasional revenue service yet).

Exciting times at NJT, especially with the new articulated routes. It's wonderful wonderful news to hear that they're finally throwing tics (regularly) on the 126 given how crowded that thing gets. I remember once on my way into NJ around 5 PM, I looked over at the NABI on the 126 next to me and the damn thing had people standing in the steps of the front door... Damn shame the Neoplans are retiring but they're in absolute horses#!t condition right now (Lord have mercy on the fairview ones..........) so it's not like they didn't live a full life!

Looks like NJ Transit will decommission at least 19 Neoplans beginning May 1.

No idea what #s.

9524 is back on the auction block as well

9524, 9526, and 9534 are already retired from the Wiki. Looks like the retired buses will be from Big Tree and Hilton

Idk if we’re ready per se to start predicting where these buses are gonna retire from. I see where you’re getting BT/Hilton from but those buses were all retired for reasons other than one-for-one replacement. In the recently published articles abt the fleet it’s been referenced (well, more inferred) that even the fairview neos could be retired. It’s possible they just go all in for Hilton and leave Big tree alone. I’d just wait and see until someone definitively says where buses are retiring

7174 was apparently involved in an accident.

What route and is there an article on this for conformation?

Yeah I think Big Tree’s will be left alone and Hilton might get those retired since the XD60s are being delivered there first.

Hilton seems more than likely that they're gonna be the first to get them. Idk if its because their Neos are in worse shape than Big Tree's, but given that 20801 and 20802 went there first, I wouldn't be surprised if 20803 and co. go there as well before Big Tree gets it's share of the order.

Given that these social distancing measures have given me some more free time as of late, I decided to take an evening to come up with an estimate on what the transit-style assignments are gonna look like when the rest of the XD60s eventually arrive.

Hilton: 20801-20822

Big Tree: 20823-20842

Fairview: 20843-20849 (Fairview has 7 transit artics for some odd reason)
