What will retire in 2011

Vancouver's last 25 high floor buses (The ex-CNGs) are on the chopping block for this year :P

You should change that to Vancouver's last non-accessible buses. You still got the Orion Vs which will be running for quite some time, especially those 2008 ones that you guys have.

Here in Toronto more Newlooks are being retired, the last non-accessible buses in the fleet. I personally think that no more than 15 will be left in service by the end of the year. We currently have 45 Newlooks left in service with an order of 35 diesel Orion VII NGs for this year, two of which have already arrived and one has been put into service. Since the year started 10 Newlooks have been retired so far.

From So Cal:

LA Metro is currently getting rid of their 1995-1998 Neoplans in the 4600-4700 and 6300-6500 Series. From the 6400-6500 series units, Metro only seems to be getting rid of the problematic units... Also, Metro retired all of its D40LF units from the main fleet as of January. There are a few still left in the contracted fleet.

Santa Monica will be getting rid of their NovaBus Classic units this Spring in favor of NABI 60-BRT and 40-LFW units. Also, if Santa Monica exercises their options for more 40-LFW's, we can kiss most of the D40LF units goodbye as well.

Montebello Bus Lines recently removed the last RTS units from service, probably related to the recent delivery of New Flyer C40LFR units.

Santa Clarita Transit has retired a lot of their pre-2000 Gillig Phantom units in favor the new New Flyer C40LFR units which entered into service late last year.

Still not entirely accurate. Those last 25 units, like all the other New Flyer high floors that were retired last year, are equipped with lifts. So, there isn't really anything all that "special" that sets apart the 1995 D40s from the rest of the fleet other than that they were converted from CNG.

I totally forgot that Vancouver's D40s had lifts.

Don't forget the train department. All the Hawker-Siddeley H4s will be gone by autumn (save for the conversion to garbage trains) when the Toronto Rockets arrive.

The TTC has not been using garbage trains for a decade. The stopped using them after the Old Mill Station garbage train fire in December 2000. The H4s will only be retired when the TRs are put into service, which nobody knows when since they keep pushing the date back.

PART (Pottstown Area Rapid Transit) in Pottstown, PA is likely getting rid of all of its 1992, 1997-1998 RTS buses with the arrival of 2010 Gillig BRT, sufficient enough for the operation need.

Also pending on the delivery progress of the SEPTA Silverliner V rail cars, all Silverliner II/III, and the Comet I railcars formally with New Jersey Transit will be replaced soon this year.

You could probably say that they are the last urban transit high floors, since the Orion Vs are suburban units iirc.
