Changing things up a bit for my flight to work next week.  I've been hearing a lot of good things on AC's Q400s compared to WS's so I thought I'd give them a try.  Booked YLW-YYC-YEG both segments on AC Q400s.

My sixth trip to Vegas for this year is next week and consists of the usual mix of WS B737-700s and -800s.

Well, the seats in Air Canada Express's Q400s are much softer and more comfortable than WestJet Encore's, no doubt about that.

Just booked my 7th trip (since November) to Vegas and will be adding Air Canada Rouge's B763 and A321 to my list.  Also might be adding Air North B735 next month.

So we were evacuated out of our camp north of Fort McMurray today and I got to add a bird to my list I've always wanted to fly on since I was a kid and never thought I ever would.  A Canadian Forces CC-130 Hercules ...

Glad you got out safe.  My Nephew went out on a C130, his mom via WestJet.  My brother-in-law was in the convoy from Suncor south yesterday.  The pics he sent from the ground were quite surreal.

My other sister-in-law lost her house in the Slave Lake fire.

And a J series too, mine was an old E/H series, can't recall, but noisy as hell...

I'm not up to date on military hardware.  The J's I'm assuming are the newer models with the 6 bladed props and the E/H's are the ones with the 4 bladed props?  Any other differences?

The one thing I noticed is that you literally felt every movement - the slightest bit of pitch/roll/bank or change in speed - you noticed it right away.

Not my video but this is the safety demo some of us got ...

WARNING:  This is what happens when the military and camp workers get together - there's no messing around and the language reflects that.  Enjoy :)

New update: a recent trip I did last week:

May 9: Delta CRJ700 YUL-DTW, Delta 737-900ER DTW-SEA

I went to Seattle to take a lot of airplane photos, including the Boeing 727, 737, 747 prototypes and the Concorde at the Museum of Flight, photographing the Boeing 737 MAX, going to the Boeing tour at the Everett factory, as well as a short visit to Vancouver.

May 16: Delta 737-900ER SEA-JFK, Delta CRJ700 JFK-YUL

I also photographed a Qatar Airbus A350 at JFK.

Here's the full set of photos of my trip: https://flic.kr/s/aHskAm6xbL

Going to Vegas again next week with the usual WS 737s but I just booked another trip down for the end of June with AC Rouge, so I'll be adding their A319 on that trip.

I booked another trip to Vegas for the end of July, same ol' WestJet 737s.  Getting back to work is getting a bit pricey, now that we have to fly to YEG on Sunday nights to catch our charter flight Monday morning.  It was great flying direct from YLW-YMM with WestJet Encore's non-stop flights for $160 but those days are gone.  Now, the search for cheap fares (at reasonable times) from YLW-YEG is proving to be quite a challenge.

Long story short, I've never booked with cheapoair.ca before, a few co-workers have and haven't had any problems.  Thought I'd give them a try tonight.  Couldn't find any real good deals at good times but I did find a YLW-YYZ-YEG fare with WS for $200 so being the weirdo I am, I hit "book".  Turn a 340 mile trip into a 3585 mile trip?  Sure, why the heck not? LOL!

End of June should be a fun week ...

Survived my first (probably only) Allegiant trip - added their A319/320 to my aviation bucket list.

Have to admit, I'm not a fan - very unlikely I'll use them again, unless I'm desperate and can snag a $39 fare - but no more than that.  Or if they switch to MD80s at their BLI base ;)
