Gotta say, the more I ride the q400, the more I like it. It’s a genuinely nice and quiet plane. Personally I find it quieter than a standard turbofan aircraft. The best thing is takeoff though; thing goes off like a stabbed rat.

I prefer the older 100/200/300 series - I like the noise and vibration.  The hissing of the ANR on the Qs are annoying as hell LOL but thats just me, I'm weird that way LOL.  Plus the delicate weight and balance requirements on the 400 - unless its a full flight, someone always ends up having to move from the front to the back.

If you want quiet, nothing beets the A340 200/300s followed by the A330.

Flights I've had have been pretty empty lol. Which is always nice.

Couldn't agree more re quietness w/ 33/340s. Kinda unfun in a way, no drama lol. Though I've heard the 787s and the 350 are pretty decent too.

Added B737 Max 8 - great airplane.  You still notice its a 737, but it is noticeably quieter upfront and in the back.  I also noticed that I was less tired at the end of the trip, I'm curious as to if it has a more advanced pressurization system like on the 787.  Loved the mood lighting and the larger overhead bins - I can only hope that WS installs those features on the NGs over the coming years just as most of the US airlines have with theirs.  Also great that the Max has ovens in the galley (and its my understanding the NGs will be retrofitted with these) so you can have hot food options on flights.  I tried the pizza yesterday - not bad for a reheated pizza.

Anyone here flown, or planning on flying on the the A350? It sounds amazing

Yes, a very late reply, but the A350 is absolutely amazing! It's quiet a bit better than the 787 regarding seat comfort and certainly much much better than any 777 in service. The cabin is much better designed and much more quiet, and even though its a few inches narrower than the 777, the 9-abreast A350 feels much more spacious than the 9-abreast 777. Too bad only Vancouver in Canada gets the A350 (even though I'm moving there anyway) and really don't get why A350 operators skipped Toronto and Montreal, perhaps a certification issue regarding respective airport authorities?

Adding the Canadian North - Boeing 737-200C  from YEG-YZF & YZF-YEG to my list.  Flying with Canadian North 737-200 is so unique, from boarding back of the plane, to the plane itself being part cargo, to the quality in terms of cabin services with hot meals.
