The Franklin stretch added to the 20 is stupid too.

Why not just combine the Franklin portion with the existing 23 and make it a circle? It was what they had planned back in the 2015 service change.

What should happen next year:

Route 2 sent to Block Line Station via Hanson-Hayward

Route 22 - Keep on Kingswood

Route 23 - Extend along Franklin/Fourth/Wilson

It would be easier to make connections along the routes to Downtown and other LRT stations

Another question that came up, with the introduction of the 205, would the 204 get extended service hours after 10pm on Sundays?

They'll interline at Ottawa/Lackner (In front of the Food Basics plaza)

lol when I talked to a driver friend of mine, I told her about the 22, they're ready for the 22 to change

The same people who couldn't justify operating local service on Fischer-Hallman alongside the 201 in 2011 on the basis of a lack of demand/density/whatever, are proposing just that on Ottawa?

lolwut

The top leg of the proposed 22 is completely unnecessary. As is the top leg of the proposed 3. As is the proposed merger of the 2 with the 23.

The 2 and 23 merger is completely pointless, the 23 should operate in a loop along Wilson/Forth/Franklin/Ottawa/Oldfield/Zeller/Fairway

The 2 can be extended downtown replacing the top the 3, the 3 can start out of block line station via Hayward-Hanson

Keep the 22 on Kingswood Drive to Block Line

20 is extended here probably to maintain Sunday service along Franklin Street and the Sunnyside Senior Home. Neither 2 nor 23 has (or will have) Sunday service.

The 28 looks redundant, it should be the 23 covering Stanley Park and the 2/20 can be interlined.

I think you mean the 23 should be made into a loop by combining this new 28 into its route. That was proposed by the region for the 2015 expansion, but dropped due to the present 23 not requiring Sunday service. This stretch along Franklin and Wilson requires it.

Actually I think this makes a lot of sense. They were going to combine this into the 20, which would look stupid on maps. Also what would you call that meandering route on the destination signs? This way the 20 and new 28 can interline at Stanley Park Mall on Sundays, providing 30 min service to each. Mon-Sat they can interline the 23-28, or the 2-28 if they need to. Gives GRT options, versus merging this into the 20 and having none.

I can say the same with the new 2 and the 23, they have options now versus merging the 2 & 23 into a monstrous, nonsensical route that defies a destination sign name. Interline the two, but keep them as separate routes.

Overall I see a lot of improvements here; like retaining service on Country Hill Dr, and having the new 19 go to the St Jacobs/Walmart (instead of yet another bus from the universities to Conestoga Mall). And the new 16 will have to (finally) get Sat & Sun service.

Even so, still a number of things they can do better. For starters with the 205 why do they need the 3 on Ottawa St at all?

Why will the 31 never get weekend service or peak service? :( No one is going to take the 92 up Columbia when that is enacted, they should honestly invest more in 201, 202, 29, 31 schedules and integrate them at the UW transit terminal. There is no reason for a redundant route like the 92 to be present. Also, it's not clear but will the 12 through Lincoln Villiage be losing service when it's integrated with the 29? If so, people will be pissed.

And another random thought, why will GRT never start bus routes that connect with the GO Train before the GO train arrives? It just makes the 5:24 train impossible and the 6:04 express almost impossible to catch.
