R1 Newton Exchange, via King George Blvd. You could also have been on the R6 Newton Exchange, via Scott Road.

I’ve only been on the R1 King George Bvld RapidBus once when I did a Busride on route 301 then switched to the R1 then got on the SkyTrain at King George Station on the Expo Line then I went home but I’ve never done the R6 Scott Road RapidBus because i didn’t have that much time because of school and other stuff and that’s the number 1 route I wanted to do since it is the newest route

https://www.translink.ca/news/2024/september/commercial broadway skytrain station escalator replacement

The main escalators from platforms 3-5 (Expo Line) are undergoing replacement as of 2 weeks ago.

However, this evening I saw that they had installed a red fence along the north half of the station between platforms 3 and 4. I have a hunch that this is to deter people from using inbound trains to walk between platforms 3 and 5.

I think a long-term solution is needed. What you do is close platform 3 entirely (inbound platforms on the original station) and have platform 4 overtake the entire station area. In fact this might be better than the current setup in place since 2019, an inverted side-platform at that. I also think the south side of platform 5 is underutilized.

R1 no longer stops at Whalley Boulevard in both directions (since Spring, apparently), neither does 320/501.

I have bets that the area has advanced in its redevelopment stages.

It has to do with pipeline construction. Though they just finished repaving from what I noticed riding the 337 recently.

The stop at Whalley Blvd was still active when I did the R1 near the end of June. Looks like it was either removed some time mid-summer or at the start of this sheet.

Alerts page says both Whalley Blvd stops are back in service as of yesterday
