Express691
The original Phibbs Exchange closes for good tonight as construction on an upgraded facility enters into the next stage. Buses will be loading/unloading on various roads in the area along Orwell, Oxford, or Main. There will also be a non-revenue/non-passenger extension of route R2 that will allow the bus to turn around while the operator takes a break. Another operator will drive the bus east to Old Dollarton and back so it's oriented properly. This is due to no loading of buses on Main Street west of Orwell/Highway 1 Offramp. The last bus to service a stop inside the loop will be 9666 on the 209. This is to take place at 1:55am. https://www.translink.ca/plans-and-projects/projects/maintenance-and-upgrade-program/bus-projects

Dane
I was just reading up on the Fall Service changes, specifically the 102/103 split. Not being super familiar with CMBC routes, I'm wondering, is the 103 the shortest route in the system?
Michael Marriott
At 1.3km the new New West to Quayside 103 would be the shortest route in the system. The next shortest services are route variations, such as the Sunday only variation of the 743 that only runs from Haney Place to South Haney or 20's heading to/from VTC that only run in service from 41st to 54th.

If you count all TransLink service, then 103 is far from the shortest trip. The 10 shortest trip variations of TransLink system [1] 0.66km - Expo Line to Waterfront (first WB trip from Burrard on weekdays) [2] 1.08km - Expo Line to Waterfront (second WB trip from Granville on weekdays) [3] 1.24km - 28 Kootenay Loop (third NB trip on Sunday) [4] 1.35km - 103 New West Station [5] 1.49km - 103 Quayside [6] 1.50km - 6 Davie (morning short-turn from Howe) [7] 1.55km - 743 South Haney [8] 1.57km - 20 Victoria to 41st Ave [9] 1.66km - 250 Special (short-turn trips from 17th Ave to Park Royal) [10] 1.68km - Millennium Line To Lafarge Lake-Douglas (early morning trips from Coquitlam Central) But then the first 3 only have 1 trip each, but 4 to 10 have multiple trips. Since I'm already doing this, I may as well as posting the 5 longest trips: [971] 45.29km - 701 Mission City Station [972] 45.32km - 701 Coquitlam Central Station [973] 45.86km - 354 Bridgeport Station [974] 67.93km - West Coast Express Train To Waterfront [975] 67.94km - West Coast Express Train To Mission Other trips that are over 40km are 352 both directions, and 701 via Samuel Robertson 2

Express691
Additional changes: 745: Addition of a PM school special originating at Thomas Haney Secondary, bus goes to Haney Place to continue as 701. 250: PM School special added from Ottawa/15th, then non-stop to Marine at 15th, then local service into downtown 130: 11 AM and 3 PM trips originate at Brentwood Station SB on weekdays. I guess this is all stuff that would have otherwise went NIS to Metrotown to start as 130/222. EDIT: These look to be added during the Spring sheet.
