But sometimes that doesn't work either, a la Sheppard Subway in Toronto.  Build it short on purpose, say it doesn't have ridership, then say "oh it should've been LRT in the first place" when it should've been full length subway in the first place.  Same thing will happen here.  Someone will decide to build Skytrain to Fleetwood or something, then say "see, there's no ridership" because it doesn't really go any further than King George.  The politicians only look at the dollar signs, not the actual service they are providing.

I think Fleetwood will have decent ridership because  Fraser highway is in the middle of community and people don't really need to transfer to get into Downtown Vancouver. The buses routes would need to be modified to better service the communties and the stations. So, I think the Provincial Government, the mayors, and TransLink would probably be smartful to study SkyTrain to Langley.

Even if the ridership is not quite what they are expecting, I hope they would be smart enough to see why, if the problem is where the terminus is hopefully someone actually fixes it with an extension to Langley Centre with SkyTrain or LRT.

Heard theres supposed to be an increase of CNG on 555 in April (although some sources have said that its going full CNG)

Full CNG would make sense with the increased passenger loads even with the increased service.  Also, the Orion's would be needed for increased service on the suburban routes at RTC.

Where is this posted? Or is it from the driver sign-up sheets?

I think he changes some numbers in the URL on the trip planner part of the Translink site to find them.  And we haven't seen the preview sheets yet.

Isn't there an issue with CNG's keeping a minimum speed on the uphill after the Port Mann EB?

Interesting that they are adding a trip onto the 509 when a year ago it appeared that route was to be scuttled.  (ie, made to run parallel to the 555 to add capacity)

Something to note: the timing of the trip coincides pretty well with the 3:45PM departure of the 66 FVX. Since this trip is not only a Surrey Centre to Carvolth short turn (I thought it was Carvolth to Walnut Grove terminus but looks like I am wrong) but is the new PM service start time (and off of the normal sched frequency of 20 mins) I get the feeling that this was taken into account when they scheduled it...

Looks like there's a growing market for Valley-Surrey Centre commuters!

Here's the URL you use to plug in the numbers.

309770 is 502 east on a weekday. Add 1 to switch direction. Add 10 to change routes.

You add a date that's a Saturday or Sunday manually to the URL. For example.

What? I click on the links and it just leads me to the bus schedule page, and I have absolutely no idea where I plug the numbers in. Could someone please explain this a little better?

XN40 can manage 70 up Johnston hill. C40LFR are trash on the 555.

The XN40s are great for going uphill.  I've gotten up to 70km/h going up gagliardi and I've passed a D60LFR with ease.

Interesting. I always thought it was the other way around. Learn something new everyday.

Cant find the 242 schedule (yet).

309240 - 241
309250 - Error
309260 - 246

EDIT: Found it, you just need to type in the date

No changes found yet as far as North Shore is concerned :/

EDIT: Found some (although I must say WVMT laid out their schedule differently so it was kinda hard to read).

250 additional weekday trips between Dundarave and Vancouver in both directions

257 additional trips

  •  7:45pm SB M-F
  • 10:03pm SB to Park Royal M-F (???)
  • 8:35pm NB Weekends

.

The April sheet also seems to have a service reduction on the 480. Right now, the 480 comes every 15 minutes during afternoon off peak hours, 5-15 minutes during rush hour, and 20-30 minutes in the evening. The April sheet says it comes every 20 minutes throughout the whole day, off peak and rush hour.
