I saved the images for if and when that happens. TMX218 and myself did some research to figure out which bus it was originally. Only $2,200, plus transportation costs, registration, insurance. Then you need to find somewhere to store it.

Tom1122
Bump. How many fishbowls did Calgary Transit own with double stream rear doors? All the fishbowls I recall seeing are single stream.

Is it privately owned or did Calgary Transit keep it alongside 1046? Yes sir. I have secretly owned and been restoring this bus since June 2020 and the attendees of Saturday night's #1046 fantrip were the lucky first few to see it in person, aside from a select few that have contributed to the project here and there over the last year. My full documentation of owning this bus and all the work I've done so far is now available for reading on my new website, https://www.bus1130.ca/, which I'll be updating as necessary. It should be up as of today at that domain. If not, it will be in the coming days. Here's a couple photos taken in the Whitehorn Park-n-Ride as @BCT-3122-D800-10240 and I were waiting for #1046 on Saturday night: 1130 by Nick Blonski, on Flickr 1130 by Nick Blonski, on Flickr And of course the photo op with #1046 after it arrived: 1046/1130 by Nick Blonski, on Flickr And here's a 12 minute 4K60 video recording of the bus with @BCT-3122-D800-10240 driving as we were making our way up to Whitehorn. Was a nice surprise to get the GlobalFest fireworks show along the way! I had to drive the bus back down south by myself afterwards. The feeling of rocketing down 52 Street SE in this thing at midnight was surreal.
TimmyC62
That's a brilliant website Nick, and great blogs keeping track of the journey. Amazing how good her condition was even after 8 years in a field! Was especially surprised at how clean the windows were on your first visit. Clearly the previous owner still cared quite a bit.

CTrainDude
Nick, that's a great log of your work, and the bus looks fantastic. After driving fishbowls for many years for CT, it's made me nostalgic for the "good old days". Thanks for preserving a very important part of history.

Pantograf
That's an excellent website documenting the challenges of owning a 40 year old transit bus, it kept me reading all the way through and I really enjoyed the pics too. I'm pretty sure I drove the bus back in the day in its original double blue livery and it's great to see that at least two of the CT fishbowls will be preserved for future generations. Too bad none of the (fishbowl) Flyers with the rear spoiler survived.

They were pretty nasty to drive especially on the route 7 for straight 8 hours but they looked a bit different. I Googled the photo and the credit goes to the unknown author.
