yrt1000
Bit of a bump...from what Iāve seen in my times going outside most ifĀ not all the 10xxās have been refurbished.Ā Now onto 1101-1120, and I spotted 1114 today looking pretty fresh and shiny from a refurb
yrt1000
Bump againā¦ Not really a comprehensive list, but all 10xx and 11xx D40LF and LFRs I see on the roads have had their refurbishmentsĀ done. Checking into the tracking, there are still a few buses that havenāt seen service a few months that I assume are still getting completed (1104, 1106 and 1113 I believe) Guess there will be a bit of a break for a year or two, unless they decide to do the XD40s a little early since the prior refurbs were done around year 10. As a side note, aĀ bit crazy to me that these buses are now 10+ years old, I remember them when they were brand new!

Articulated
I have received confirmation that sixteen of the Van Hool A330s are being converted from Viva to conventional YRT service. The converted units will consist of the sixteen earliest numbered units (5101, 5103-5108, 5110-5111, 5113, 5115-5116, 5118, 5120, 5122-5123), and will be renumbered in order to 521-536. According to Transsee, 522 reentered service yesterday morning (January 11, 2024) on route 21. Six additional units are known to have been completed refurbishment, and are on property at West (TOK Transit). 2

Now that if one of the remaining VIVA units break down, they sub in artics. Most recently, there was a artic that made appearance on viva yellow. There are more than enough A330s in Viva livery to cover the runs. Currently, only the Orange (8 buses) and Yellow (3 buses) routes use 40 foot buses; so that's a total of 11 buses out of a fleet of 23. There is a cover bus based in Newmarket, but since it has to cover both the Blue and Yellow routes it may be an artic. So if a bus breaks down on Yellow, the artic cover may come out to replace it until a spare A330 can be pulled out from the garage.
