Photos of buses making turns

300 posts in this topic

After years of taking photos of buses parked at terminus / garage, or crossing through intersections, I was starting to get bored of all the same straight-on angles of buses sitting and running...........until I started to develope an interest in photographing buses making turns! Personally, I thought turning angles create larger varieties of things to "play around with" from the perspectives of photographers, and also make buses look somewhat more interesting than "just a box" as often stereotypically judged by many people, who aren't passionate into buses as we do! Share your opinions / thoughts on this topic, and most importantly, show off your work to everyone! I will start off with a few favourites of mine, limited to buses in Vancouver for the meantime!

My fave. A double whammy at Captain's Corner

That was a nice corner for trolleys. Another nice one was a Stoney Plain Road and 156th Street! :P

These are all really nice pictures of Buses!

I would share some... but I dont have any good ones of Buses turning! Next time I will snap some!

I love taking advantage of turning buses in order to get multiple angles of a bus in the same sun. I'll post some examples later of photos of all four corners of a bus at the same time with sun angle. There are some pretty good spots in Mississauga where this is possible.

Another one of mine with an MCI Classic in a nice lean coming out of the Wye Road Transit Centre in Strathcona: http://www.busdrawings.com/Transit/alberta...-8950sct883.jpg

Love your shot of MT #0310 turning along with beautiful sun angle and dark cloud in the back ground! Beautiful work!

Here's a few from me:

In your first photo, what are people doing on the roof of that building?

Knowing the neighborhood, probably just hanging out :)

Seriously, I have no clue :D

Looks like local bus fans taking photos :) . Or could be some guys tarring the roof.

Dave

I love turning photos. Some of my favourite photos in my collection are turning ones.

Here are a couple bus and streetcar ones that I've taken:

Love the broad angle you can get for photos while buses are turning, trolleys are especially fun because of the switches.
