17 additional stations will be closed beginning on March 26 due to COVID-19. Stations include one of my local stations College Park. Here’s a link to the article: https://www.wmata.com/service/status/details/COVID-19.cfm#main-content

I hope this virus can die down so everything can go back to normal.

Some of these choices seem a bit mystifying. I can think of at least two - West Hyattsville and Forest Glen - that should've been closed and a couple others that could've been swapped. Hasn't West Falls Church become a ghost town since the Silver Line came in, why spare them over East Falls Church?

I guess since Ballston Station is more used than East Falls Church they kept that opened instead. Yeah Forrest Glen and West Hyattsville could also close as well. They’ll probably close in the next set of closures if WMATA does some.

I think part of the deal might be Ballston has more Metrobus connections and routes where it is the sole rail connection than EFC. All of the routes at EFC either connect onward to the Silver Line or connect back at Ballston (or if you're the 3A/B ART 55, all the way back at Rosslyn).

The one that might save Forest Glen, for now, is Holy Cross Hospital but even then that elevator ride PLUS having to make it to Georgia Ave THEN crossing Georgia THEN walking onward is a bit of a trek when the Y buses and Ride On can do the trick.

I noticed the 1A/2A/38B from west ox and the 29K/29N show up in buseta.  Wondering why only a few routes show buses?

WMATA did say the buses aren’t being tracked according to their website. Also I guess West Ox and Southern Ave are helping their regular routes so the main divisions can save on cleaning supplies.

Hm, that's interesting. The headways between buses must be a nightmare though. Anyways, I would not be surprised if Metro retire the remaining Orion VII OG CNGs buses due to the fact that fewer buses are being used in general. Same with the Orion Vs. Who knows when these new Xcelsiors will be deployed.....

Yeah haven't seen none of the Orion VII CNGs lately and Orion Vs are basically retired from passenger service. Guessing they were sent to retirement unless a few buses remain. They might not even see service again even when this pandemic crisis is over with.

Metro is now slashing even more service due to COVID-19. Trains will operate until 9pm each day and bus service is suspended after 11 pm on ALL routes beginning April 6. The first and last cars of each train is now out of service, rear door boarding to all passengers expect those with disabilities, 19 stations closed, and only 27 routes operating on weekends every 30 minutes. Everything is listed below.

2658 and 2727 were showing up on busETA today on the 28A.  Haven’t seen them online since mid March.  The 16C was only showing the scheduled trips unfortunately.

me neither with the Orion VIIs. I think they'll last till fall since the new XN40s are most likely gonna be delayed in entry for service

What was the original number for WMATA's GMC New Look 1400? No GMC bus numbered 1400 existed under WMATA, but WMATA has one saved under that number. It's supposedly from 1964 if that helps.

idk have to look into that

Also WMATA announced that the Silver Line will be suspended beginning on Memorial Day weekend for both the Platform Improvement Project and the Phase II tie in for the Dulles airport extension. This is actually a smart move because due to the low ridership from the pandemic we're having, WMATA can just close those stations and during these low ridership moments instead of having to interfere with customers and trains running beside them. https://www.wmata.com/about/news/Orange-Silver-Summer-2020.cfm

I think its safe to say the Orion Vs are retired unofficially . The Orion VII CNGs are still running though.

I'm pretty sure the Orion Vs are done now. Drove by Sheppard's Parkway depot yesterday and alot of Orion Vs and Orion VII OG CNGs are parked there OOS for some reason. Also, in general, buses are crowding all these depots since so few routes are running. Four Mile Run for example have so many XN40s parked all over the place.

Thinking those Orion VII CNGs are training buses now. A bunch are located at CET Yard. Orion Vs are basically done but they're still hanging around. Plus the crowding is usual since of the 27 weekend routes

Also 6031 was involved in an accident last night. Source: https://twitter.com/alanhenney/status/1259692534181306369

Does anyone know if buses #7255 and #2915 are still oos? They seemed to be out of service for years now. I know #2915 was out since atleast 2017 and #7255 since about 2016. Also, the 2 2014 Nabi hybrids (#8055, and #8066) could they possibly come back with new faces from the retiring 2008 Nabi BRT 60 CNG artics?

And lastly, are all the DASH bus Orion Vs retired? Haven't seen one in service since Apirl...
