New Yorker 2001
Spotted 2014-2015 NABI BRT 42 Hybrid #8082 broken-down on the side of the road while working the 29N yesterday afternoon, bound for Kings Street Metro. There were 3 of these buses between the 29N and 29K, which was interesting, the other 2 being #8080 and #8083.

Geez, the photos on some of the newer Metrobuses have new destination signs with poor visibility unlike its older counterparts. I tried to take some on some VA routes, but due to the same result, I deleted them. Also, why did you take a photo of a Ride On bus here?

DCTransitFilms
A friend told me there's a ex WMATA D40LFR that's at the Capital Guardian Youth Challenge Academy in Laurel. Likely the school owns it now for training purposes. Don't know number or when it was acquired. Also I figured out the allocations for the 4700s. They are the following: Landover: 4701-4715 Andrews Federal Center: 4716-4730 Shepherd Parkway: 4731-4745 Southern Avenue: 4746-4755 Montgomery: 4756-4770 Cinder Bed: 4771-4780 Western: 4781-4795 The only units that still need to be activated are 4747, 4754, 4759, 4760, 4773, 4777, 4785, and 4790-4795.

Take this with a grain of salt, but according to a WMATA bus operator in fb, WMATA MIGHT be planning to purchase additional XD40s in the near future (aka #4800s). Currently, I see no evidence of this outside of his statement, but I'll be certainly keeping an eye out for this.

DCTransitFilms
Seems like the money train pairs (2016-2017 & 6182-6183) are getting the yellow wraps removed. 2016-2017 were spotted in the vinyl wrap but are still being used for money train purposes. 6182-6183 had some of their yellow wrap taken off.
BusTraveler96
NEWS ALERT: Several protesters had disrupted Metrorail service at Union Station earlier tonight due to a peaceful Pro-Palestinian rally to end cease-fire in Gaza. The demonstration began at 4:30PM and lasted until 8PM. During that time, demonstrators held up signs such as "Stand with Palestine," "Free all Palestinian political prisoners," and "End all U.S. aid to Israel." They even placed their hands on the Union Station walls and the Metrorail sign using red, white, and green paint; a few of them were arrested for defacing property. As a result, Red Line trains bypassed Union Station; however, after the protest is over, service to the station has resumed. https://wtop.com/dc/2023/11/dcs-union-station-blocked-off-metro-service-disrupted-due-to-protest-calling-for-cease-fire-in-gaza/ https://www.fox5dc.com/news/demand-for-ceasefire-in-gaza-echoes-through-dc-at-union-station-rally

The untrained eye could easily believe that bus in brand new. Thanks to WMATA's excellent bus maintenance program, it'd be hard to fathom that the bus is 17 years old. Yet another occasion to appreciate that Cinder Bed is (now) an in-house operation. They're able to carefully distribute miles on older buses across the system, thus keeping those older buses in good condition -- and filling holes where newer buses duck out for preventative maintenance.

Metrobus1A
Well folks, I picked today and I’ll be returning to Montgomery! My routes will be the K9, S2, 70, Y2/Y8. Yes, you read that right, we will have the K9 this upcoming pick instead of Bladensburg. Edited Friday at 07:32 PM by Metrobus1A 2

And you'll probably be driving a lot of artics! 1 hour ago, Metrobus1A said: we will have the K9 this upcoming pick instead of Bladensburg. Makes sense. I always wonder why so many routes "default" to Bladensburg -- only to move to a Maryland division within a few picks. Enjoy. You're making me miss the road! ._._. Just for fun... an S2 moment from the history books: a southbound trip starting at 16th St & Kennedy St NW. When Northern was running the route, multiple morning pieces pulled out to this bus stop and started in service; those pieces cycled short trips on the inner part of the route. I see a few comparable trips in the current schedule, starting at Sheridan or Buchanan (...encouragement that ridership is returning!) This was prime territory for Northern's Neoplan artics, as 5311 eagerly demonstrates: 3
