Someone else said they saw #2022 New Flyer XD40 #4672 working in VA the other day too. Not sure what's happening here but it could be mileage related or as I said the other day, to make room for the 2023 New Flyer XD40s. 11 hours ago, DCTransitFilms said: 4629 is at Montgomery too. Also, I noticed some interesting activity along the Silver line lately. Spotted a Worktrain going pass the Dulles Airport stop late one night recently and just yesterday, a money train and a 4 car set 7000 series, possibly a yard move to Falls Church railyard. A lot of trains are being switched around yards right now I heard. Heard there was a 4-car 2000 series set today.

Those buses will be turning 11 later this year. I know the 2014-15 NABI BRT 42 Hybrids are likely goners after 2026 due to their immense unpopularity. #8001-8105. DCTransitFilms
According to WMATA's new Instagram story at the auto show, 1001 is now based out of Shepherd Parkway. Also in the same video, four more electric buses are coming alongside two articulated buses. So 1001 is done at Western?

I'm guessing one or more of the NEW XE40 Charge NGs (cause #1001 Is an older 2016 New Flyer XE40) will go to Western in it's place...maybe. Is this order included the rear window for EVs, hubcaps for the fresh Alcoa rims, EV battery chargers, spare tire with the wheel wrench and jack mounted underneath the bus except on diesel generator for climate change and research project and are these going to be featured in 2023 Washington DC Auto Show inside or outside the convention center including burn-in testing around the block with the passengers in it pal? This brings us to the next topic, since the current New Flyer contract is coming to an end soon, is there any pending RFPs for new buses for 2024 and beyond? Has anyone seen if any currently exist? WMATA Metrobus will be due to retire around 600-700 buses between 2024 and 2030. They include the remaining: -2009 New Flyer DE42LFA Hybrids -2009 New Flyer DE37LFA Hybrids -2010 New Flyer DE42LFA Hybrids -2011 New Flyer XDE40 Hybrids -2012 New Flyer XDE40 Hybrids (both BAE and Allison units) -2012 Orion 7.503 EPA10 3Gs (both Hybrids and Clean Diesels) -2013 New Flyer XDE40 Hybrids -2014-15 NABI BRT 42 Hybrids (likely getting an early retirement) -2015 New Flyer XDE60 Hybrid Artics -2015-16 New Flyer XN40 CNGs (due for rehab around 2024-25). possibly the 2016 New Flyer XDE40 Hybrids and 2016 New Flyer XE40 (#1001) too.
