Orion6025 Posted December 20, 2018 Report Posted December 20, 2018 Does anyone have a list of the WMATA route-depot assignments? Wikipedia has one but i question whether it's still accurate.

Someone recently went in there and screwed everything up. #2611 to Bladensburg. Currently working the 96. Also, #6558, #6560 and #6566 all to West Ox. All 3 are working the 1A as I type. 1

Also, seems that #2654 is really at Sheppard's parkway along with #2662 and maybe a few more Orion 7 CNGs. I think SP's CNG station had a soft opening and will probably go onto fulltime CNG operation by next into 2020 with the 3200-3300 series XN40s arrive soon. I don't think that entire set of #2654-2662 is at SP depot because #2656 was working the 16G yesterday. Yeah they started running a few of the 2500s out of SP earlier this year, but it wasn't anything serious. I don't have the exact numbers, but there are still D40LFRs stationed there. They've had a few of them over there since the fall of 2016.
Chris.A Posted December 22, 2018 Report Posted December 22, 2018 Just an update on the PRTC side of things, those new MCI's I mentioned a while back are getting a new vinyl decal scheme, totally modern. They will also no longer follow the existing numbering scheme into the 400's. Instead, they are numbered in the 3000's. Spotted bus #3019 sitting in the depot OOS this morning.
Chris.A Posted December 25, 2018 Report Posted December 25, 2018 #2200 and #2225 working the P6 while already mentioned #2140 is on the 11Y.
Chris.A Posted December 27, 2018 Report Posted December 27, 2018 Adding #2156 and #2177 to the list. Also, #2614 is still out of FMR. Spotted parked in Tyson's earlier while on the 23A. Lastly, #6556 to West Ox. Seems like many of the former REX buses got reassigned there.

Yeah, spotted car #7610 on the Green line yesterday. #6557 to West Ox. Working the 1B as we speak. Also #6554 remains at SP, working the 21A. Any work if some of the new #3200s are going to get the Blue express scheme or be Metroways units? How about #3112's status? #2137 is also back in service, so that's 26 Orion Vs so far.
Chris.A Posted December 30, 2018 Report Posted December 30, 2018 Spotted an Orion V deadheading somewhere westward on I-495 in Alexandria @ 5am this morning signed as a 29G for some reason. Also, seems that Cinder Bed is now open for business. Saw no Nabi BRT 42 hybrids in NOVA anywhere other than the NH2.
Chris.A Posted January 1, 2019 Report Posted January 1, 2019 Add #2209 and #2214, but this time to Montgomery depot instead. Also spotted 2006 Orion VII OG CNG #2657 deadheading southbound in Lorton a little while ago before making a U-turn back up north near the Fairfax/Prince William county line.
Chris.A Posted January 5, 2019 Report Posted January 5, 2019 #6554-6572 to SP depot. Also, #2973-2974 to FMR.
Chris.A Posted January 7, 2019 Report Posted January 7, 2019 Orion V #2105 Is no longer out of Four Mile Run. Nothing but XN40s and Orion VII OG CNGs now ( the Orion VII 3G BRT Hybrids are now also gone, being transferred to Cinder Bed Depot).
Chris.A Posted January 7, 2019 Report Posted January 7, 2019 #2600 to Bladensburg and #6576 to SP (West Ox lost about 10 buses and got nothing back).
Chris.A Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 2000 Orion V #2206 to Montgomery depot. 2009 New Flyer DE42LFA #6384 to Cinder Bed depot. So #6375-6383 are likely there too. I thought they were only getting 72 units (except for #6367 which was scrapped in 2014 following an engine fire due to a towing mishap in Sept of that year)?
Chris.A Posted January 8, 2019 Report Posted January 8, 2019 For PRTC, the highest new MCI D4500CT in service is #3029, so I suppose some 2004-2005 D4500CLs will start to be retired in short order.
Chris.A Posted January 9, 2019 Report Posted January 9, 2019 Orion VII CNG #2630 might have had a small fire @ Pentagon today. Saw some smoke under the rear wheelwell. Also, #6386 and #6388 remains in at SP.
Chris.A Posted January 10, 2019 Report Posted January 10, 2019 PRTC #3034 is in service. MCI #355 is back in service and MCI #324 has officially been retired.
Chris.A Posted January 15, 2019 Report Posted January 15, 2019 In DASH bus news, it seems that DASH is looking to retire their 2007 Gillig Phantoms already for some reason. #101 is the last Phantom left in service from the #100-103 batch. Might be a parts thing as those Phantoms are kinda oddballs in an otherwise all Advantage/Orion V fleet.
Orion6025 Posted January 17, 2019 Report Posted January 17, 2019 (edited) I can't find a DASH topic so I suppose this will do. Photos have been posted of a recently delivered 35 ft Xcel (Idk if it';s an XD35, XE35, or XDE35...) numbered (19)515. It's got a rear window, those white signs like the 2015 WMATA XDE60s, and fabric(?) white seats. ------- It's an XD35 Edited January 17, 2019 by Orion6025

The DASH buses are suppose to be XD35s, similar to FFC's. Where are the pic's at?

Chris.A Posted January 22, 2019 Report Posted January 22, 2019 2007 Orion VII OG CNG #3035 to Bladensburg depot. It is currently being used as a "food delivery bus".
Chris.A Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 On 9/2/2018 at 12:00 AM, WMATAC40LF said: If you're referring to the fact that the 5ks are being retired after less than 20 years of service, there are several reasons. They have been relatively unreliable since they entered service. In fact, their mean distance between failures (MDBF) was no better than the old 1000s. The production of the 5ks was also rushed during the early 2000s, so Metro would have enough cars for the opening of the Green Line extension. This unfortunately resulted in shoddy workmanship and production defects. WMATA originally had plans to overhaul these cars, but instead choose to exercise 220 more options for 7000s back in 2015 after the FTA provided the funds. I mean if you have the money, why bother fixing up old cars when you can get new ones? Spotted 2018 XN40 #3102 Deadheading on I-95 south to what appears to be towards Cinder Bed last night. Also, #6577 West Ox < SP.
Chris.A Posted January 24, 2019 Report Posted January 24, 2019 The DE62LFAs all seem to be assigned to Montgomery depot now whereas most of the XDE60s are now out of Bladensburg. #5450-5452 to Montgomery. All NABI BRT 60 CNGs are currently out of service til further notice (possibly retired now).
