Whoever set fire inside this railcar at Eastern Market Metro is gonna pay for his crimes! That incident this past Friday sent a Metro worker to the hospital and caused GM Randy Clarke to be late to work that day. ?

Articulated buses are officially at Cinder Bed. Right now I’m hearing 5464-5470 are at Cinder Bed from Bladensburg. I’m not sure if 5460-5463 are also there but we’ll see in a few days. Not sure if 5530 is still there too.

DC3 is solely Metrobus it seems. Looks like the DC1 & DC2 are contracts, and the Blue and Yellow Line shuttles are also contacts on weekdays it seems. Idk yet who is doing what since no shuttles are tracking.

Nothing else seems to have significantly moved looking at trackers.

5461 is still at MOTR (Montgomery). It’s parked in the lot.

Speaking of Montgomery, there's one blue LFA retired parked alongside the DE40LFs.

There’s more than that. A few of them have “SCRAP! DO NOT USE!” on their windshields.

On a separate note, here are other the division codes:

Andrews-AFTR, Bladesburg-BLTR, Cinder Bed Road-CBTR, Four Mile-FMTR, Landover-LNTR, Shepherd Parkway-SHTR, Southern Avenue-SOTR, Western-WETR, West Ox-WOTR.

A lot of the blue LFAs haven't been out for Montgomery neither. 6439, 6442, 6445, 6447, 6449, 6450, 6451, 6452, 6453 all haven't been out it seems.

6424-6431, 6433-6435, 6437-6438, 6440-6441, 6443-6444 don't know their status but ik these have left Montgomery.

First post here.

I moved to this area from Hong Kong (which has much better public transit) and in July/August took a Fairfax Connector route 463 bus around 4pm from Tysons. Aside from me, all other passengers were probably 50 or over, and only 5 other people were on the bus when I got off at Maple Avenue. This was the 2nd bus I took in the DC metro area, the first being a Metrobus 38B that probably had 10-20 riders around 10am from Ballston to Georgetown. Is low ridership normal for the routes around Vienna (46x)?

EDIT: Sorry, meant to post on Fairfax Connector.

So how many DE42LFA Hybrids are left in service systemwide? 200ish?

I know all the 2009 DE37LFAs are still active surprisingly. Just saw #3762 last night at Kings Street station working the NH2 in fact. Haven't seen one in a while until last night.

I think those Artics are just loaners until Yellow/Blue line service is restored in Northern VA. Cinder Bed probably ain't keeping them as they are needed in D.C. more and there aren't enough 60 footers to go around.

There's like 150 I believe still left. Majority of the 2008-09 units are done but nothing from the 6472-6609 range not counting the ones lost in accidents or sold to Fairfax

WMATA will be hosting the Bus Roadeo at Landover division this weekend on Sep 24. However the event is closed to the public. Only Metro employees are allowed to the event.

However MTA Maryland Bus Roadeo will be held on October 1.

Saw a 2015 New Flyer XDE60 pulling out of Cinder Bed depot. They are indeed out here now.

Metro has announced some test runs on Phase 2 of the Silver Line beginning on October 3 and will last for two weeks.

Hopefully their testing will go well. Two weeks is pretty short especially when they are working to replace the MetroRail maps system wide.

Earlier today, Pentagon Metro Station was closed due a security training exercise. As a result, all Metrobus routes (and DASH Line 35) that serve the Pentagon has been moved to Pentagon City Metro Station until the exercise concludes.

6448 is marked “Ready Reserve”, but not scrap.

Note: Every bus I listed is still here at MOTR.

Have any of them had their decals removed? I also saw a blue LFA was used as a Roadeo bus on Saturday

It isn't surprising that Potomac Yard will open in 2023 & the track work construction is delayed...

Soil issues at the new Potomac Yard station has been discovered. As a result, the shutdown past Ronald Reagan Airport is being pushed until November 5. Potomac Yard station is also slanted to open in 2023.
