Yellow and Green line trains were single tracking for most of the day after being canceled for several hours. If this keeps up, they are going to have to close the subway down like they did back in 2019.... Your best bet is to take Metrobus, DASH, Ride-On, Arlington Transit, etc. Avoid the rails for now.... Rail is a s***show rn. Unsuck DC Metro is currently having a field day.
DCTransitFilms
Anyways, Alstom Pairs 6050-6051 has been reunited with each other and are currently at Greenbelt Yard. 6050 was damaged in a derailment back in 2013 which explains why 6051 was all by itself for many years as 6050 was sent to New York to be repaired. Those cars will likely return to service in a few months as testing will be needed for those cars to go back into operational status. Anyways, here is a proposal for Fairfax Connector showing both new routes and possible improvements: https://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/connector/sites/connector/files/assets/documents/pdf/routes/ccvt draft schedules/route 306.pdf

Shep I heard also still has 6357 but idk tbh. Most the 2008 LFAs aren't even tracking atm for some odd reason. And 6388 is currently sitting at CET and hasn't been touched in over a month it seems. Plus more XD40s are likely here now but idk numbers since my friend hasn't stopped by CET yet. DASH Orion Vs are also likely retiring in November I heard. But idk yet. Pretty strange that no one has seen it yet. When I get time, I'm going to start looking for that unit. On a side note, had no idea that #4511 had an accident a few months ago. At least 20 7000 Series Railcars has their axles out of alignment after inspecting all railcars. Now Metro would need to submit a plan in order to get these cars safely back into service. These delays will likely last a few more weeks as well. As of right now, the 2000 series are getting inspected to return to service while the 6000 series are slowly returning to service as they're needing to pass both inspections and has new parts for them. The situation is getting so bad is that they have to reopen part of the closed line leading to Shady Grove yard just to get a few legacies that are stuck there from the Rockville Canopy Project. https://wtop.com/tracking-metro-24-7/2021/10/inspection-finds-axle-issues-on-metro-7000-series-trains/ https://wtop.com/tracking-metro-24-7/2021/10/metro-details-plans-to-return-older-rail-cars-to-service-as-derailment-investigation-continues/ https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/local/dc/frustrations-over-metro-delays-grow-as-wmata-pulls-older-model-trains-back-in-service/65-329d7e78-b3ac-4e22-b44e-884fb3823672

Rob S
Here is an interesting study on the Shirley Highway bus lanes in the 70s. It’s a lot of reading but shows the old bus routes and some timetables in northern Virginia. Some of the route numbers such as the 16s have changed since. I have been meaning to post it. https://ia601300.us.archive.org/11/items/evaluationofshir7572mcqu/evaluationofshir7572mcqu.pdf Page 46 has an old timetable and page 50 has a good map. The 20s use to go from Fairfax City to DC before 66 was built inside the Beltway. You can the old 18 route that is now FFX 310. Also, the routes along Route 1 are now connector routes.

Interesting I'll check it out later. WMATA has announced they will be adding 7 more trains beginning tomorrow. Silver Line trains will be re-extended to Largo again while Green Line trains will be improved to operate every 20 minutes now. The rest of the lines will operate every 15-20 mins (RD) and 30-40 minutes (BL/OR/SV, and YL) https://www.wmata.com/about/news/Metrorail-service-beginning-Nov-1.cfm

I receive no "historical records" on autocheck for MC075558, while if I plug in 5FYD8FV10MC075557 or other 4590s I get multiple records.

So its possible 4599 was never built or its included in the 4600s then? Its also possible it was involved in an accident while on the way here and it was sent back to New Flyer to be repaired? Its strange as WMATA made this year for 100 buses but we only got 99 total buses. What are the license plates for 5530 and 5532 then? We got the VINs but the license plates were wrong for them at first.
