More D40LFRs have been reactivated. 6104, 6186, 6193-6204 are currently at Andrews and are currently being used for the Green Line shuttles. 6155, 6156 and 6160 are now at Bladensburg. 6137 is at Shepherd Parkway. I assume 6173 is at Andrews as well but I’m not 100% sure.

Judging my information from the March 2021 changes, I can plot the following:

  • Andrews: 6104, 6156, 6160, 6163, 6168, 6186, 6193-6204
  • Bladensburg: 6151, 6155, 6161, 6164, 6178, 6180, 6182, 6184-6185, 6189
  • Four Mile Run: 6140-6145 (all are officially retired. my friend went by and said their numbers have been scratched off)
  • Landover: 6205, 6207-6210
  • Montgomery: 6212, 6214-6217
  • Southern Avenue 6105-6135
  • Shepherd Parkway: 6103, 6137-6139, 6146, 6148, 6152, 6166, 6174
  • Western: 6147, 6149, 6157, 6167, 6172
  • CET: 6101-6102, 6136, 6150, 6154, 6158-6159, 6170-6171, 6187-6188, 6192
  • Unknown/Possibly Retired: 6153, 6162, 6165, 6169, 6173, 6175-6177, 6179, 6181, 6183, 6190-6191, 6211

I actually forgot to add them lol.

Also I'm hearing all DE40LFs and DE40LFRs were taken out of service due to mechanical issues yesterday. They'll be out until further notice. This might spark the end of the fleet.

Really? Won't that cause a shortage?

Yeah but remember we having 2021 XD40s entering service and we got the D40LFR reserves. So they can just navigate them around and we’ll have enough buses for now.

Have anymore XD40s entered service? It's been a while since they have..

Seems just 4511 and 4513 and possibly 4510 and 4512.

also hearing that ALL DE40LFs and DE40LFRs (except 6040) are now dead. Not sure yet gotta confirm soon

The Orion 7.503 OG CNGs are still active as I saw #3009 on the U4 yesterday. Also spotted C40LFR #2822 and D40LFR #6151 on the Green Line subway shuttle. Speaking of the D40LFRs, I drove by Four Mile Run late yesterday afternoon and saw that #6143 and #6144 still have their I.D. numbers and decals on, so despite an earlier report of these buses being retired, they might not actually be, atleast not yet.

Ima take a trip to FMR in the coming weeks to check them out. 3006 and 3009 are the last two Orion 30 Ft CNGs left in service and a lot of D40LFRs and C40LFRs are used for the shuttles rn. Those would possibly be sidelined once more once the summer shuttles conclude but could stick around next year for the Orange Line shuttles next year or Red Line shuttles later this year.

I suspect that once enough new XD40s come in, that Metro may next start shifting some 2009 DE42LFAs to storage. This will probably happen after the #4600's come in though.

Thinking the 4600s and 4700s will begin replacing the DE40LFAs. Cinder Bed’s LFA might be the first ones out bc of how poorly they’re treated

Yeah, most of those older #6300's will probably be toast. I was thinking of the #6400s. Sheppard's Parkway's buses don't appear to be all that great in maintenance either.

Cinder Beds 6300’s are always on the side of the road broken down.   The ones they repaint and fix after body damage don’t even match the rest of the bus.  One, I think 6328 has new numbers on the back with the wrong font.   What is interesting is that the same company runs Fairfax Connector and their buses are in excellent shape.

Once metro takes back Cinder Bed we’ll be fine. A lot of the ones that left Cinder Bed for Shep still has hella smoke come out of them even when they're back under WMATA control.

Also, all 6000 series buses (6001-6050) are officially dead. Confirmed from a Montgomery operator. In response, Montgomery seems like they’re getting the next set of 2021 XD40s as 4515-4521 are there right now. I’m thinking their set will be 4515-4539 and probably more to fill in the retired buses.

So Landover is only getting #4500-4514? They have some #4400s too right?

Damn, makes me glad that I caught my last one (#6018) back in March, though sadly I never rode a 2006 DE40LFR... oh well...

Landover still has their 4400s. This might just be temporary though got a feeling these 4500s might not stay long term. Also my last ride on a DE40LF was ironically on the last day on the Green Line shuttle (6012) which Western actually operated. Haven't got a DE40LFR since 2019 tho

Those buses were some of the rarest in the system. Really hard to find.

You can see 6348 from a mile away smoking!   A lot of them can barely get up the hills on the 395 HOV lanes too!

Hey, man, I ask you about only one first my old picture WMATA coach number (2157) Orion V. If you want to like uploaded, input list on the CPTDB Wiki and the info requested yes or no. I have my picture in a good or bad quality and I don't know yet. If you want to? I think the move date is April 5, 2016 in Washington DC.
