Yeah, #5401 and #5402 were assigned to Four Mile Run for a month or so back in late 2008 and early 2009, right before Arlington was closed and replaced by West Ox. Four Mile had nothing else but Orion 7.501/503 CNGs back then.

I give those 2005 DE40LFs til September. Also, are most of the D40LFRs really sidelined??? I looked at the Roster and it appears that only Southern Ave Depot is actively using theirs. Everyone else retired their units?

Regarding FMR and tics, I thought FMR could take a limited number. I remember some of the 60-BRT's spent short stints at FMR to service the 5A during holiday periods in 2008-09 back when Blade shunted them to the R2 and U8 due to the reconstruction of H Street NE precluding any intended use on the X2.

Idk if FMR can hold tics now but they can't do any maintance work on it i think but again I'm not sure though. I'm giving the DE40LFs until November 2021.

There’s word going around from a Facebook post of 2021 XD40 4500 entering service on the A12 today. However it is not tracking on transsee or buseta yet. I’m not sure or believing until we get a pic of it being in service. It may’ve been 4457 or one of the 2019 XD40s but again idk.

Here are pics of CET Yard showing the retired Orion VIIs, D40LFRs, and DE40LFs. Also are some 2021 XD40s parked here waiting for service entry. 6159 has its number scratched off while 6031 is showing damaged from its left side from its accident from last year. 6004 is also there with its front messed up but is not shown on these pics. The other D40LFRs have training tags on them. These pics were taken by Michael Wilson (MW Transit Vids) and was used with his permission. His CET video is linked below which also shows 6004, 7100, 8055 or 8066 and 6487 sitting at CET.

Where's the rest of the new XD60s? Shouldn't they be here?

Also, PRTC Omniride's new 2021 MCI D4500CTs are here on property in the bus storage lot. #3037-3042 are all PAINTED in the new scheme and are currently awaiting to enter service.

The rest I heard are parked at Andrews garage. The rest are being delievered or being built rn.

That's interesting. You think the D40LFRs will be toast after this year? Also, Fairfax Connector's D40LFRs and D35LFRs are due for retirement soon, so are their Orion VII NGs Diesels.

most D40LFRs aren't running already so I think they'll be toast now. Next year they'll definitely be toast.

4500 has entered service out of Landover division. Not sure when it entered service or what route so ima say today on the G12/G14 because of a pic online.
here is a pic of 4500 taken by Minh Trung

So I suppose that it will be 25 buses per 4 depots? #4500-4524 to Landover depot?

Aw yeah ?

Haven't even seen one in person, and those (and their artic counterparts) are already my favorite buses in the Metrobus fleet.

Totally worthy successors to the D40LFRs. These are becoming the new Flxibles.

After ~10 years of looking at that paint scheme, I'm only now realizing how sloppy the many logos look. Three different metrobus logos -- all different sizes and colors and positions -- plus the [M] square. Kind of haphazard. It's a solid paint scheme on the whole -- they'd do well to clean up the decals a little.

I'm off to the DMV in a few weeks and can't wait to see these babies in action!

They need to get something else for a change. Perhaps Novabus could find it's way to the D.C. area seeing that both nearby Ride-On and Baltimore MTA have some.

Besides Landover, the other depots I can see these new XD40s go to would be Sheppard's Parkway, Andrew's Medical Center, and Montgomery. I bet Landover will probably shift some 2011 XDE40s over to Southern Avenue to retire their 2006 D40LFRs. Of course this is just my opinion, but I can see WMATA doing that.

Anybody thinks that at this point, the #6000s are pretty much retired? Haven't heard anything of them.

I actually heard a rumor that the 6000 series will comeback before Memorial Day. Not sure though but I think WMATA might move them out of Greenbelt Yard before its closed during the Platform Reconstruction but I'm not 100% sure as of yet. If they will comeback I heard they might be on the GR/YL and BL lines but still not sure.

Usually after a massive contract year WMATA would switch up their orders of buses but again we will have to wait and see. Plus I don't think Landover will give up their 2011 XDE40s easily since they actually like them unlike the LFAs and NABIs rn. We still don't know where the 4500s will be assigned to but we gotta wait and see.

Yeah, but it will not be all the 2011 XDE40s, only the first 30 or so, plus they will be getting better 2021 XD40s in exchange.

And really? The Bus is getting Proterra's too?

Anymore 2021 XD40s or XD60s entered service yet? I stayed home all weekend and as a result, I don't know what's out there?

Also, what's with DASH's new Proterras? They should be out by now honestly...

Fairfax Connector will officially be taking over 5 Metrobus routes beginning on July 10, 2021. The routes are the following:

This basically seals the fate for West Ox as WMATA will no longer reopen due to these changes. However WMATA is supposed to get back Cinder Bed in early 2022.
