Theres not much suitable curbside or bus terminal nearby, maybe at Market + 6th like Flixbus and Megabus? Same goes with Chicago when the station is sold, Will they relocate to union Sta or 95th Street-Dan/Ryan I would rule out 95th… it’s way too unsafe there… we used to have buses that had luggage stolen out from under them. A car would pull up on the left side and they would help themselves to bags while the driver was on the door side helping passengers. Terrible area. My money is on Union Station. Tcmetro
The City of Chicago forced Megabus to move from Canal between Jackson and Van Buren over to Polk between Clinton and Jefferson. Flixbus is using Megabus' old Canal St stop, but it runs way fewer trips than Megabus did in their heyday. The problem I see with Chicago is that Amtrak and the city aren't going to let Greyhound operate curbside at Union Station.
traildriver
It still seems incredible to me, that Greyhound has been reduced to “curb-bumping” in the city that was its corporate HQ for about a half-century. And both Chicago and Philly used to have state-of-the-art underground terminals in the 50’s to ‘80’s…
MCIBUS
This just an opion, but I feel that FLEX is going to run Greyhound into the ground. True there still owned by a European based company, but when First had at least they had terminals in large cities. Flex is tring to run Greyhound as though it was "twin" of it's base FLEX in the US? I can't coommentt on how FLEX runs its coach biz in Europe, but North America is not Europe. Heck you can drive a day or two and go thru maybe 3 countries in Europe, as here in North America(Canada & US) it takes you 3 to 4 days depending on your speed and how many hours you drive to get from the West Coast to the East Coast? Also curb side Pick Up/Drop Off maybe feasible(dependingf on you view)in the Southern States where typicity it's warm in most cases year round but in the Northen States & most of Canada in the winter it's cold to very cold(depending on your location) it's pretty dam hard to be waitng for a bus? Yes some drop off/pick up may have a spot where it;s sheltered to some degree, but others maybe out on the sidewalk freezing your ass off. I don't know what the future holds for Greyhound or even Flex for that matter, but something tells me it looks very grim for Greyhound especially if they go "curb side" for their entire network and actual service disruptions we being posted here from postings in this forum or other sources, people can only take these to a certain point, just the hell with it I'll pay more and ride the train and not really have to put up with this B S? I would argue that Greyhound was on its way to going curbside starting from the late 90s. The only difference Flix seems to bring on the table is the increase in E-ticketing only locations as for service disruptions, that’s standard Greyhound operations for you… been that way since Laidlaw. Back then they had operated more sections, but there is a very good risk that if a bus is sold out, even if you had a ticket, if they decided not to run another section… well too bad. Bad service has been prevalent in the company for a long time Hope the government wakes up and build some intermodal centers, because the there is no future for privately owned bus terminals

The new bid takes effect September 7 so the service increases will vanish and everything will magically work again. You’d think they would save themselves the trouble but I guess they do this every year. I started in 2017 and this year is probably the worst I’ve seen it. ns8401
What trip around the country on Greyhound would be complete without a weekend stuck at that infamous gas station on Cherry Street in Knoxville? A group of passengers spent Friday and Saturday night outside before being put up in a hotel on Sunday. The news report is worth it. Knoxville is basically a symbol for everything going wrong now. https://www.wbir.com/article/news/local/greyhound-bus-never-shows-up-group-stranded/51-862b19f8-c294-4043-a85e-3e5140ad6b65 86982 Was involved in a crash in Midland, Texas when the driver failed to yield the right of way to an oncoming pickup truck. ns8401
Greyhound has abruptly pulled out of it’s location at the Amtrak Station in Jackson, Mississippi and moved outside Jackson proper to the Loves truck stop in Flowood, Mississippi. They did this without informing the city on the 22nd and now the folks at Loves were sent an immediate cease and desist letter because their facility is not zoned to be a bus stop and Greyhound and Loves didn’t notify anybody they were going to do this. It was unilateral on Greyhounds part according to the city. Jackson is a driver change point. https://www.wapt.com/article/greyhound-may-be-leaving-union-station-in-jackson/40966669# We had a similar problem to this with Flix here in Michigan… they just started showing up one day out of the blue at the Amtrak/MDOT/Greyhound/city bus facility in Kalamazoo with their Flix Buses… no notice to the state, no authority, no permission. It has since stopped needless to say. But this hasty stop change without all their ducks in a row is becoming a habit. This actually came up in a conversation I had today before my run. They need to leave the hubs and driver change points alone so there’s at least somewhere for people to stay if there’s a problem like no driver or something and also to deal with tickets and such. ns8401
Now they’ve gone back to the old location after the cease and desist letter… apparently the windows of the Greyhound portion of the Union Station are now or were boarded up… this is a very weird situation. https://www.wjtv.com/news/local-news/greyhound-bus-station-moves-to-flowood/
ns8401
And apparently this move was known about by the local leaders in Jackson, Mississippi but was not expected this quickly. At issue were complaints about homeless people sleeping at the station and leaks in the roof and a demand for $1 Million in upgrades and improvements to the station. The city couldn’t secure the full funding needed for that between their money and so Greyhound abruptly took off without notice it sounds like. https://www.supertalk.fm/greyhound-moves-operations-from-jackson-after-city-and-state-fail-to-fund-bus-station/
