There may or may not be a new Greyhound Connect route in the works between Danville, IL and Chicago via Elgin, Rockford, Rochelle, Oglesby, Bloomington and Champaign-Urbana starting on or around January 23rd...

Towards the bottom here:

That would be a helluva circuitous route....but better than nothing, I suppose.

Yet another fire... looks like a G to me but it’s hard to see... was a charter carrying a Lacrosse team near Philadelphia:

I believe that's a Prevost H3-4x model.  The door from the twitter video is a dead giveaway.  "Greyhound Bus" is often used as a generalization for a type of bus carrying people.  (i.e. we were shuttled to the event using a Greyhound type bus)

Nice find... funny how the color is almost right for part of the Greyhound scheme...

Greyhound is proposing service from Hartford, CT to Providence, RI using Federal 5311F rural transit funding.

One route would be 7 days a week and run Hartford-Colchester-Norwich-Plainfield-Providence and the other would run 5 days a week Hartford-Willamantic-Storrs-Brooklyn-Providence.

The Service has been dormant for 8 years.

** SCHEDULE CHANGE - EFFECTIVE: SUNDAY, JUNE 23RD, 2019 **

Please note Greyhound Canada will be re-routing service via Ottawa, ON and Syracuse NY. Direct city pair service via Brockville, ON will no longer be available.

Passengers will have several daily options available to them via Toronto, ON and Montreal, QC to travel between Ottawa, ON and Syracuse, NY.

Complete details are available by visiting our websites at www.greyhound.ca and www.greyhound.com

Such a shame direct Syracuse service is gone. Seems like Greyhound is really going downhill quick. We need deregulation in Ontario now.

That Ottawa-Syracuse run is nearly useless as it is... one round trip two days a week, operating in the early morning hours. 2:30am is not the best time to operate if you are looking for passengers...

In a transit world yes... in the intercity world it’s always 230am somewhere... there are a lot of places that wouldn’t have service if they didn’t come in the middle of the night. The two days a week thing is what would kill it...

A greyhound driver was arrested for DUI after a crash on a run from LA to Seattle, looks like it’s Americanos USA 60590 that was damaged:

More on the driver... he was a new guy as he had the white shirt on:

You can still get to Syracuse at around 2:30 AM.  Mind you, the trip now takes nearly twelve hours and there's a transfer in Toronto...

Turns out his license had been suspended 4 days before the accident...

The early morning time on that run, is a legacy of when the bus ran thru to/from New York City  (a GLC/ADT pool).   It was very popular for the thru passenger's between New York and Ottawa, and was not intended to cater to local passenger's.  Unfortunately, the buses no longer go thru, but the connection is still faster between the endpoints, than the alternate route via Montreal...
