Buses for sale

You should consider the following:

How easy can you get parts?

Can you maintain it by yourself?

Do you have somewhere to park it?

To answer your question:

A scrap dealer in Peterborough wants $4000 for a 35ft Fishbowl.

But it depends on the condition

"How easy can you get parts?" Not sure.

"Can you maintain it by yourself?" Simple things, I guess. Anything major I would need to get a pro to look at it (That would be cost alot, right?)

"Do you have somewhere to park it?" Yes, I have ALOT of space, although I don`t live there (My dad rents the house to someone but we can still use most of the land)

must consider also that almost everything other than windshield washer fluid will cost you $500 or more

think about talking to a few people before buying, there are a few bus owners on this board me being one of them

it's not a walk in the park trust me lol

Is this bus really worth $3,200.00? Do you think that was what Guelph Transit would have sold it for? I`m considering buying it, but there is no front right turn signal in the picture.

Looks like that right front signal is lying on the floor inside - you can see it in the interior photo. Capital Bus Parts is a great source of parts - they sell used and refurbed. Costs can be kept down if you can do some work yourself as labor charges are always a huge part of any repair bill.

Yes, I always like to try to do it myself. I`ve sent an email to the seller about the condition of the bus, ~2:00pm today. Still no reply...

That bus was used by Fairview Mennonite Home in Cambridge (Preston) and I would see it every so often running around town, Unfortionatly I never got a photo. The bus was replaced by a International cutaway similar to what St.Thomas, Kingston and Cobourg Transit use.

overall, it looks like it's been well cared for.

As some of you know, the transit service in Drummondville, Qc was taken over by a new company that runs only cut-a-ways now. All the CTD Drummondville Orion I's and Orion V's all 30ft long are for sale in Drummondville. They are scattered around in city in various gas station parking lots. I remember someone on the board asked me if Drommondville would be selling their 30ft Orion V's and the answer is yes they are. So now's the chance for someone that wants either a baby Orion I or V!

As long as there are fewer than 24 seats you can drive it with a G. I'd imagine a Z endorsement would be helpful.

I was always told that you can drive a bus with a G, as long as you have no passengers.

But of course it is a good idea to have the proper license, especially a Z with an air braked vehicle.

I heard it was between 10,000 and 15,000$ :D ! That's quite expansive considering the age of these buses and their actual conditions (frame etc.).

How predictable. Everything is always more expensive in Quebec. I wish BT had that 30' Orion V and I to replace the aging Classics, especially 7054 and 7055-87 (the Gruesome Twosome).
