BC Transit 8911, 1989 MCI Classic TC40102N, is for sale on public auction. This happens to be Ex. Translink 4178 which was sold to BC Transit in 2007.

Here's a photo of mine while she was active with Victoria

WOW! That auction even suggests that interested bidders should check with their spouses before bidding!!!

Thats good advice trust me! Spouses don't like these kind of surprises. Honey I brought home a bus, hope you have enough for a divorce too!

My girlfriend gets mad when I bring a new rollsign home.... Imagine I brought the whole bus home? She may be out of luck though, as a Local and I are seriously looking into the purchase of Niagara 8374.

So how did this one manage to escape the scrapper? I recall someone posting a whole lot of BC Transit Classics in a scrap yard not too far back.

I had a chuckle over the "check with spouse" bit in the ad too. "Honest honey, it'll fit in the backyard no problem".

Here's some advice, if you win '74, find somewhere away from you home to store it and don't tell her :o . Even better store your destination sign in it and tell her you sold it  . Problem solved!

74 was a decent bus (nudge;nudge) :P

Only off the road a couple months (nudge;nudge)

She's waiting http://www.dsbn.edu.on.ca/Purchasing/gsoa/...?category_id=21 (nudge;nudge)

Not in driving condition could mean that it doesnt have a MTO sticker. Right?

Or it's got too much corrosion to pass the safety. I assume that's what an MTO sticker is?

If someone is gonna buy her, I'd be calling the contact name and asking some questions...

On second thoughts perhaps it's best to be honest from the begining. . Otherwise when she finds out, and belive me she will! It will be ALOT worse beleive me. Just be honest & make sure your willing to spend atleast as much on her as you are the bus. Maybe double :o . Take her on a trip or by her a car :o .

As for the questions, MTO sticker I would probably say it would need to be inspected, corrosion shouldn't be a problem as these busses were only in Canada a few years. It's possible however they may have had some parts stripped in order to keep the 4 current Classics going, tires, etc. not sure.

There is a contact email in the auction for someone in the garage, I would email him with any questions before bidding.

Nautilus really does beleive in honesty :P
