Michael Marriott
Yikes macewan station must be a nightmare! Do they atleast run 4 car trains ? They can't; NAIT station is only a 3 car platform. This is why there is a notice on the ETS website encouraging people to walk to the Capital Line at Bay. M. Parsons
Besides that, the Metro line only runs as far South as HSS. So to get to/ from MacEwan Station means transferring trains somewhere. Just simpler for most people to ride to Bay.
awstott
Nevermind the fact that you have to transfer trains if you want to go North too.
LRT
What a nightmare. They should have a second operator to run the train north at Churchill during a hockey game to speed things up. But would probably confuse south bound passengers so forget it..
LRT
What the heck happened? https://globalnews.ca/news/3856654/issues-continue-to-plague-metro-line-lrt-as-train-enters-wrong-track/

Innuendo
I guess now Metro Line trains only go to Central off-peak. Why Central of all stations and for how long?

I'd suspect they do that so it can use the crossover to get it back onto the proper line for the return trip Remember, that line is only supposed to be NAIT to Jubilee
awstott
They are doing tile replacements at stations so they are likely closing a track. Would you rather Nait trains only went to Grant Mac? 1 hour ago, Innuendo said: I guess now Metro Line trains only go to Central off-peak. Would you rather Nait trains only went to Grant Mac? I didn't mean to make it sound like a complaint. Plus, I misunderstood what the city meant so thanks for clearing that up, since I thought this was a change that would last a while. Sorry for any confusion! Churchill has the NLRT crossovers north of the station. Central is a little bit odd as a result, but that's a result of the work being at Bay. There's also LED lighting upgrades in the tunnels which might be going on concurrently.
CanadianTransitTycoon
City ends contract with Thales, escorts workers from LRT Job Site. https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/city-ends-contract-with-thales-escorts-workers-from-lrt-job-site
M. Parsons
Wow. I hope that was the right decision. There's been some ugliness before this. But now, it's going to get real bad I suspect.
Benton Harper
Should have redone the entire system, and not bolt on an entirely new system... Frankly, I prefer to believe Thales than the city
