Does anybody know where I can get the Operator's Manual for the 2004 Orion V Suburban bus Manual (Go Transit Configuration)? I need it for tomorrow or this Tuesday... Thanks! :(

I can help you with '93 Transit.

Not much changes in those usually.

I downloaded the 97 Orion V Transit Bus 40 ft and 30 ft (configured for Washington DC) but when I saw the illustration of the dashboard, I notice it was different from Go Transit's 04 Orion V Suburban Coach and the the left hand side controls are also different from Go Transit's. I am using a Orion V Suburban for my Z endorsement test so I want to familiarize my self with the cockpit controls and displays. Thanks anyways! :(

There's been rumours about Orion working on an artic for years, even before they recieved that Mercedes unit. Nothing tangible has ever seen the light of day of it.

It's a fact, not a rumor. The artic was originally designated the Orion VIII, but the project has been pushed back several times. The new plans call for the VIII to be the VII's replacement, and the IX artic will follow

I have to ask for a source of this fact, as nothing has been released by Diamler....

so, its still hearsay.....

Not at all. They are executives, so they know what's going on. I was told about both the NG and 3G long before they went public with those projects. Hearsay is 3rd party. My info comes straight from the source.

Nothing has been made public by these executives, and the info is coming from you, the 3rd party, so it is hearsay.... thats just how I see it right now....

62 Orion VII buses ordered by the Central New York Regional Transportation Authority (CENTRO) for delivery in 2013. 56 40-foot CNG's for the Syracuse routes, 5 clean diesels for the Utica routes and 1 clean diesel for the Rome routes.

1/28/12 Update - the Rome bus will be a 30-footer, not a 35-foot bus like #1019.

Press release from Orion:

CNY CENTRO Buys 62 Transit Buses From Local Orion

Oriskany, N.Y. (December 16, 2011) – Orion Transit Buses received an order from Central New York CENTRO for 62 Orion VII buses. Locally manufactured, these buses will help to support the over 500 jobs at the Orion production facility in Oriskany, N.Y. The Orion VII transit buses will be delivered by the end of 2013 to CENTRO.

"We are pleased that our local community continues to support its local bus manufacturer by buying buses built right here in Oneida County," said Richard O. Ferguson, president and CEO of Orion Transit Buses. "Our relationship with CENTRO continues to strengthen based on our quality products and services, and we are ecstatic that CENTRO has the confidence in Orion."

The buses purchased by CENTRO will have various powertrains; 56 are Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and are being built for the city of Syracuse. The remaining 6 are powered by a clean-diesel EPA 2010 complaint engines and are for Utica (5 buses) and Rome (1 bus). All include the styling and functionality improvements that were launched in 2010 when the 3rd generation Orion VII was introduced.

CENTRO has almost four decades of doing business with Orion. In the 1990s the three cities of Syracuse, Rome, and Utica combined purchased approximately 165 Orion buses. Since 2000, over 51 buses have been ordered by CENTRO, which started managing the transit operations of Rome and Utica in that same year.

Orion "IX", don't get me laugh on that............focus on improving their crap now first before launching new products please..........."please"...........and fix the crappy website first............

good luck on running the business with a "few" order.........a company that has no future if it continues to run like this..............

For the record I did mean 11, just picking on the sluggish pace of the website update. IIRC they've had the same basic webpage design now since about the time the VII NG was introduced.
