septa105R5/seClip9
Unfortunately Neoplan AN460 #7195 caught fire at Penns Landing. The rear of the bus was destroyed. This is bus will likely be retired given the damage and age of it. THESE ARE NOT MY PHOTOS. COURTESY OF PTV FACEBOOK PAGE Speaking of the Novas, it is still unclear how soon they will enter into revenue service. Recent photos from PTV facebook page show some were on driver training. However, the saga of when the production units will arrive continues as source(s) reported that problems on SEPTA's units are resolved and SEPTA will not take anymore delivery until they are fixed. RIP #7195. This was the bus it look like before it was caught on fire.

septa105R5/seClip9
According to PTV FB page, source reported that SEPTA had plan to purchase a small number of Gillig Advantage Low Floor 29ft to replace the 2000-2001 Eldorado current used on Contracted Routes 310 Horsham Breeze, Route 312 Cornwell Heights Shuttle and LUCY Route at University City. Mr.Transit
This report seems kind of strange...first of all, SEPTA probably has to put out rfps to replace the El Dorados...secondly, Gillig has never had any type of interest in any previous SEPTA contracts over the years...lastly, I think that New Flyer and El Dorado would have interest in it. septa105R5/seClip9
This report seems kind of strange...first of all, SEPTA probably has to put out rfps to replace the El Dorados...secondly, Gillig has never had any type of interest in any previous SEPTA contracts over the years...lastly, I think that New Flyer and El Dorado would have interest in it. Well sources with documents including evaluation sheets and cad drawing and other documents are showing signs SEPTA is eyeing at those buses (no official confirmation of the order yet). Obviously according the union contracts, these buses have to be 29 ft for those to be operated by the contractor on those contracted routes. Gillig Advantage Low Floor 29ft and Eldorado Transmark RE, XHF and EZ Rider are the only known buses that may potentially fit SEPTA's requirement. septa105R5/seClip9
Also, other sources from PTV FB page reported that the 204 and 205 contracted routes may also get new Gilligs as well to replace those Freightliner/Champs and Chevy/Champs. No other specific details were announced.
