Benjamin
For the record, two of the 3200s are operating the streets this week. They are 3202 and 3204. Initially both were spotted on Line 70-12th/33rd Avenue. TriMet's bus replacement goals for FY2015: *Deliver the 58 remaining 3200s this summer to the Center Street and Merlo Road garages. *Deliver the first 3300s this fall. *Deliver 22 new 30-foot buses in early 2015, along with 8 new 40-foot buses. *Deliver 4 new hybrid buses in mid-2015, to bring the hybrid count to 8 units. ~Ben Edited June 7, 2014 by Benjamin
MAX BRT
Thanks Ben! Do you know if the 30 footers will be Gilligs? What does anyone know about the hybrids in 2015. More BAE Series E equipped buses?
Benjamin
Thanks Ben! Do you know if the 30 footers will be Gilligs? What does anyone know about the hybrids in 2015. More BAE Series E equipped buses? Yes, they will be made by Gillig. TriMet plans to buy these to replace the 1900 series Flxible Metros. With only 10 units in that old series, surely Center Street would get a few as well to replace their 1600 series Phantoms. ~Ben
Puget Sound Rider
Saw three 1900s. Two wrapped up for route 83 and one unwrapped on route 63. I did not catch any of the new Gilligs though. Ittl have to wait till tomorrow to post pics. Had to grab a motel because I was too tired to make it all the way home. Once again, I had a very pleasant TriMet experience. You have a great system there.
Puget Sound Rider
Okay, here we have 1909 with no wrap, and 1906 with the Washington Park wrap. I did see another Washington Park coach, but missed the number. Puget Sound Rider
Did the Bombardier Type 1 LRVs originally have red seats? I was on #112 and saw that one section has red cushions. The rest are purple. TriMet MAX 1989 Bombardier Type 1 interior (112) by zargoman, on Flickr
northwesterner
Must be a test pattern.... I first rode MAX in '00, and the seats were purple.
RapidRideTy
The seats indeed used to be red on the old Bombardier cars. I think they changed the upholstery when they installed the air conditioning units on the Type Ones.
Benjamin
3210 spotted today on Line 37-Lake Grove (3:10 PM)! According to: TriMet Interactive Map. ~Ben Edited June 9, 2014 by Benjamin

Puget Sound Rider
Just kinda monitoring rosecitytransit.org and see that TriMet is up to 3213. This afternoon, 1716, 1724, 1734, 1748, 1750, 1752, 1757, 1767, 1770, 1771, 1786 and 1792 were running on commuter trips. Also, 1901, 1902, 1904, 1906 and 1909 were in service. I know a couple are wrapped up for route 83, and one is on the 63. I can't remember what routes the others were on.
Puget Sound Rider
Updating the Wiki Portland Streetcar roster to show the United Streetcar trains now in service. However you will notice that no two HF sets are coupled together in service, it's always a HF and an LF, or LF and LF, never HF and HF.

That is because of the ADA which requires all trains be assessable to all passenger types.
busdude.com
This was done in the late 90s when the Type II cars were originally delivered, the type 1s were modified at the time to be able to electrically couple to a Type II. I'm not sure however if a Type I and a Type III can electrically couple, I don't recall seeing any combinations like that. I'm pretty sure a Type II and Type III can however. and a Type IV stays to itself due to the single cabs.
Blue Bus Fan
Is TriMet getting CNG Gilling low floor buses? Some one should try to ride the BYD K9 All-Electric bus, to see how it rides.
Puget Sound Rider
Trying to keep up with my travels and pics so I don't have a backlog when I get home...I have yet to see the BYD E-Bus. I did hop a ride on the Washington Park Loop (I love hearing the "DING" of the actual stop request bells. All the newer buses have an electronic "bing". 1904 is also wrapped for line 83. 1909 was running on the 63. As for MAX, I hope to get some more specific information as to what the Type 2 "cutoff" is between 1997 and 1998 build years. 238 is a 1998. Ill have to see if I can get 237 and below to figure out what was the last '97 and the first '98. I'm going out again this afternoon to try to find some '90 Phantoms and 40' Flxibles.
