San Mateo County Transit District - SamTrans

Here was the Proterra demo that was leased to SamTrans. I took the photos of it white on 9/22/18. I took the pics of it in the SamTrans wrap on 11/3/18. I did get inside on both days with my friends (they work at SamTrans), but I did not take any interior photos for some reason. I did ride it on 11/3/18 and I got an interior video, but that was it. This bus is no longer there, but 2 SamTrans units have already arrived. I have so much footage of stuff now that I be forgetting to post stuff like this. lol

Took these pics on 12/2/18 of the first 2 of 10 SamTrans Proterras. The leased demo is gone. I could not look inside these units unlike the demo since these two were locked; (friend at SamTrans couldn't get in).

I got to check out the XD60 800 at Northbase the other day since my friend at SamTrans was giving my other friend a short tour of the yard. It was in the garage and dark, so the pics did not come out too well, but oh well. (6/2/19)

SamTrans Proterras 725 & 726 at Northbase. Everyone here calls them  Potatoes. They've been having many many problems lately and cannot last a full day in service without an issue. (6/2/19)

SamTrans could Potentially be Expanding to More of San Francisco (Including neighborhoods Like the Inner Sunset, Cole Valley, Haight-Ashbury and the Western Addition)

All that and More explained in this Feasibility Study: http://www.samtrans.com/Assets/_Planning/pdf/Final+Express+Bus+Feasibility+Study.pdf?v=2

That's a great-looking bus!

I must say, the solid black door panels look sharp. Intuitively, I'd think that feature might be ugly -- yet it somehow makes the bus appear like an exotic European import.

Remind us, how many on order? Any projection for assignments between the two samTrans bases and the contractor?

Buses 800-854 (53) will be the ones, all buses will run out both of North and South Base. MV Transportation may be the Contractor for some of these buses.

I've been informed NABI's 145-148 at MV are finished (pretty much retired) and will be returning to North Base for decommissioning at some point. My friend was the last to drive 145. Pretty sad because 148 was the first NABI 436 I rode. 145-147 were also fun rides as well.

I've been informed by another source this is no longer valid. I also filmed 145 driving on the 292 the other day. Also, when they do return to Northbase, they may be used in service a little while longer.
