Orion V 1400
Looking back at the February 2015 agdena, Foothill Transit plans on ordering 35 42-foot Low Floor CNG buses with options up to 100 buses. I can see Foothill getting this if they take all the buses before the end of 2016Press release from when Foothill ordered the 2100s(I think)http://www.newflyer.com/index/2013_10_18_foothills_transit_award 4th Paragraph. It's no secret to New Flyer that Foothill wants the 42-BRT. Although sexy, beyond the headlights there is little about the Xcelsior that is striking or distinctive. If Foothill wanted Xcelsiors, they would have bought those by now. Clearly the NABI BRT has a design that cant be replaced by an Xcelsior. Seems to me that there is still hope that New Flyer might keep around the NABI BRT, or at the very least Foothill might strike a deal with New Flyer for more BRTs. If Foothills signs soon or has already signed then yes it would/could be possible for them to get more 42-BRT but im thinking they would have to be delivered before the end of 2016 early 2017 as the last of the current NABI orders would be finished by then. I find it interesting that the 60 BRTs are already approaching 500,000 after only 8 years. Running 100% freeway express everyday must really put on the mileage. ABQ RIDE
I wonder, with the end of production of the NABI line in favor of the Xcelsior, I wonder if Foothill Transit will stick with New Flyer or will they go back to Gillig. Foothill Transit was loyal to Gillig until 2002 when they decided to start buying CNG buses. Now that Gillig offers CNG, Gillig could try to win them back as a customer. OCTD 2039
F100-F106 were Gillig Spirits made in 1991 with VINs of M2090161-M2090167. These were believed to be the last order of Gillig Spirits, at which it would be discontinued after that. But units F106-184 are claimed, according to Wikipedia's Foothill Transit article, as New Flyer D40s made in 1988, where it would have Cummins L10 and Allison transmissions in them. That is unacceptable! Imagine how much worse it would be if the New Flyers were in charge.
MAX BRT
Prominent on the Foothill Transit front page on the web is the following: We're going all electric by 2030! http://foothilltransit.org/ Given the FTA 12 year cycle for buses, that should mean no new CNG buses will be purchased after 2018. (In other news, the latest board minutes show they have ordered 30 XN40s for delivery at the end of this calendar year.)

That's pretty aggressive goal given the service area and the length of some of its routes.

Yeah, probably the most aggressive electrification goal I've seen anywhere outside of China.

bzcat
Foothill Transit is adding 2 Alexander Dennis double decker electric bus to the fleet. Proterra will provide the drivetrain and AD will provide the body. No idea who is providing the chassis as the article didn't mention. The illustration looks pretty cool. Shows a 3-axle Enviro 500 40ft bus. https://www.trucks.com/2018/07/12/electric-double-decker-buses-los-angeles/
2044
It sounds like ADL will provide the complete bus minus the drivetrain.

alexb320
Foothill Transit had F1600-1629 rehabbed and repainted by Complete Coach Works (CCW). All the buses got new Cummins ISLG engines and rebuilt transmissions on an "as needed" basis. They also sport the new livery. https://www.masstransitmag.com/bus/vehicles/press-release/21074127/complete-coach-works-ccw-completes-bus-rehab-project-for-foothill-transit 1

cpt039
I don't think E500EV will arrive at LA anymore. It has been two years already, and the bus is still at UK. Also, I heard Foothill orders some XN60 to replace NABI 60 BRT.

They ordered 24 NFI XN60's, 19 ENC Axess BRTs 40 footers, and 2 ENC Axess BRTs 35 footers. The XN60's will be replacing the NABI 60-BRTs', due to their CNG tanks expire on January of 2021. For the ADL's, I haven't heard any news about them in awhile. http://foothilltransit.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/10-25-2019-Executive-Agenda-Packet.pdf This is my source for the new bus orders.
