DavidW Posted October 14, 2010 Report Posted October 14, 2010 I understand the M.T.H.A. will be participating in the New Flyer open house on Saturday, but I can't seem to find anything about the open house on newflyer.com . Has anyone else seen anything public about an open house?

BusRider Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 There is indeed a articulated Xcelsior (XC60) that is diesel. It's parked at New Flyer and is totally white.
Ber Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 now thats definitely something to get a photo of!!!!
Board Admin A. Wong Posted October 18, 2010 Board Admin Report Posted October 18, 2010 There is indeed a articulated Xcelsior (XC60) that is diesel. It's parked at New Flyer and is totally white. XC60 or XD60?
BusRider Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 XC60 or XD60? The builders plate said "B/A XC60 Diesel Transit" and the V.I.N. 2FYC8YC05AD037699.
BCT-3122-D800-10240 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 XC60 indicates that it is CNG! As well in the vin code it is indicated that the bus is a CNG.
323 Surrey Ctrl Stn Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Well kiddies, we got ourselves the first (known) New Flyer CNG artic! Chris Cassidy
MCW Metrobus Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 But why would the builders plate say it is diesel?
DE40LFR Posted October 18, 2010 Author Report Posted October 18, 2010 The builders plate said "B/A XC60 Diesel Transit" and the V.I.N. 2FYC8YC05AD037699. Woah! How did you get the VIN and the Builders Plate info? You went there and took a look for yourself? My best pic of it:
BusRider Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Woah! How did you get the VIN and the Builders Plate info? You went there and took a look for yourself? My best pic of it: Yep.
2044 Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 But why would the builders plate say it is diesel? Maybe a typo. It wouldn't be the first time that happened. Woah! How did you get the VIN and the Builders Plate info? You went there and took a look for yourself? My best pic of it: Thanks for sharing the photo. Yep. How'd you manage that?
BusRider Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 How'd you manage that? It was in a parking lot outside... no fence.
M. Parsons Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 But why would the builders plate say it is diesel? New Flyer is somewhat notorious for wrong data on the plates, other than the actual VINs!
DE40LFR Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 It was in a parking lot outside... no fence. So do you have any pics you care to share?
Ber Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 hmmm nice...drive by shooting....get it lolz... anyone manage to get a pic of the YRT LFRs?
DE40LFR Posted October 19, 2010 Author Report Posted October 19, 2010 hmmm nice...drive by shooting....get it lolz...anyone manage to get a pic of the YRT LFRs? Most of them were inside the factory which I don't think were aloud to post them publicly. Correct me if I'm wrong But I can tell you that they have the bike-rack styled headlights like OC Transpo's, come with the usual 3 tone blue paint and with the front roof mounted new HVAC, seen on Red Deer's D40LFR's! (Here)
Ber Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 nice...thanks for the details.... hopefully someday NFI will create a more slimmer cover for the hvac... it looks a little bulgy rite now..
BusRider Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 So do you have any pics you care to share? Maybe...
YRT-Guy Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 Most of them were inside the factory which I don't think were aloud to post them publicly. Correct me if I'm wrong If you can see them from a public area why not... but if they were taken while ON the property is another story.
DavidW Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 If you can see them from a public area why not... but if they were taken while ON the property is another story. I have oodles of pictures taken inside the factory. Saturday October 16th in celebration of its 80th Anniversary New Flyer held an open house for employees and their families. The Manitoba Transit Heritage Association volunteered at the open house. We brought out two Flyer buses from our collection and talked about company history to everyone who visited the buses. I was told personally by the president of New Flyer to take all the pictures I like, inside and outside the factory. Now. Can I post them?
smallspy Posted October 19, 2010 Report Posted October 19, 2010 I was told personally by the president of New Flyer to take all the pictures I like, inside and outside the factory.Now. Can I post them? If you were given explicit permission to take photos - as you were here - I can't see a reason why you would not be able to share them UNLESS you were explicitly told not to. Dan
DE40LFR Posted October 20, 2010 Author Report Posted October 20, 2010 Well now that is out of our hair... did someone ask for the new YRT D40LFR's? I can post photos by request until I get my Flickr running! Also, BusRider has some photos! (probably with better zoom! )
