MVTArider Posted June 4, 2015 Report Share Posted June 4, 2015 Living in Seattle, the XT40's are of particular interest to me. I'm curious to see shots of them in any stage of production. Here's a few I got: I understand the concern about not dumping tons of photos of the NFI plant online, and I have kept back some photos taken on the tour as they are interesting but also IMHO operationally detailed. However I don't think these particular views necessarily give away anything important, they were taken with permission, they show no employees, and no requests were made by the NFI tour guide, or by CTHF to keep photos taken private or offline. The concerns about posting photos taken within the confines of the NFI plant would be valid only if you were specifically instructed not to do so (or were told not to take photos but snuck a few anyways). This was on I-94 headed eastbound from Saint Paul, MN about 5 miles west from the Wisconsin border. The destination sign said HSR and the fleet number was 1424. The ElDorado EZ Rider II MAX/BRT does just fine with the ISL G, so I don't see why would the ISB6.7G would really be necessary for the MiDi. Unless the EZ Rider II series is significantly heavier. Also another 25 are identified in the Short term plan. This contract is for 35' and 40' buses, so expect some XN35 for SLF and C35LF replacements. New Flyer had the superior bus, and delivery schedule. New Flyer was also the lowest bid and commonality was very important. No surprise since that announcement in that Joint Procurement led by Lafayette Transit that an Option CNG for New Flyer MiDi (I'm guess they'll likely be designated as MiDi MN30 and MN35 since New Flyer uses "N: for CNG model since the Xcelsior models unveiled). I wonder if CATA in State College might consider the CNG power MiDi's to their fleet for lower ridership route because the current Eldorados are 12 years old now. Since the consortium announcement with New Flyers planning to introduce CNG version of the MiDi, I almost MiDi model maybe consider as well for the 35ft fleet replacement at your area.
