3we
So far this morning, I have seen no cutaways on Tempe Orbit. The Gilligs are up to 1657. Two hours later, it appears the Saturn route is still using Allstars 1602-1604.
The XDE60
1658 is on Orbit Earth, via Transsee Nothing new yet.
3we
The City of Phoenix bid is on the street. It plans to acquire 240 40-foot CNG buses (plus options) over the fiver-year contract. The bid also requests pricing on 60-foot CNG bus options. It closes in June, probably award in the fall.
Ztonyg
Wow. Didn’t realize the time was going to be up soon for the C40LFRs already.

Probably for the 2009 C40LFR's, replacements could also be sent for the 2009 L40LFR's as well.
3we
The new bid is for the City of Phoenix only. The currently open (New Flyer) contract was a joint Phoenix/RPTA contract which runs through September 2022. Everything RPTA through 6697 and 8081 was accounted for in that bid. It seems to me that the new bid covers 5001-5240. I just find it premature (although possibly not) because 5001-5120 are 2014 models, 5121-5200 are 2015/2016, and 5201-5240 are 2017s. Unless Phoenix really dislikes the Gilligs and doesn't intend to keep them for 12 years.
3we
I don't know if the start/end dates on the contract represent "notice to proceed" dates, or "pay" (i.e. delivery) dates. Of course, there is a year difference between the two. The current contract runs through September 2022, which either means that buses can be ordered until September 2021 for delivery September 2022, or contract pricing is honored for orders through September 2022. If the former, then the new contract is right on time. If the latter then there is (almost) a one year overlap. The 2017 pricing is going to have to be a lot better than what will be had in the new bid. And if the new contract runs from fall 2021 to fall 2026, then this would be too early for the Gilligs. The proposal calls for 40 units in year 1-3, and 60 units in years 4 and 5. It would seem that it's too early for even the C40LFRs. It's possible that there are credits left over from the D40LFs. The XDE60
When seeing the inside of 5664, I noticed the seats have a gray hard surface rather than velvet fabric with a purple background and three small green lines on it. What is the reason for such transition? But I do like the velvet fabric seats better.

I'll take padded vinyl over the hard plastic any day, but that plastic seat salesman is seemingly doing a pretty good job.

Considering COVID really doesn't spread via surface transmission - something we've known for a year - they should stop thinking so deeply about this issue. The XDE60
Looks like 6874 is in service. Not sure if it's an XN40... If it were, then we'd be saying "bon voyage" to the 2009 C40LFR and 2009 L40LFR buses.

The XDE60
One of Phoenix's XD60's is being sold this month due to safety concerns. I'm guessing that's 8109 if I'm not mistaken...
