Wonder if they will be replacing two Eldorado's or two HSR Nova's

I would think it would be the two EZ Riders. They don't necessarily need them. It may be a strategy to standardize the fleet.

Stratford has acquired another second hand LFS. Bus 9773 is Ex-OC Transpo for sure and possibly 9731 which was the Wifi bus. It is replacing bus 9768 (Ex-HSR 9719) which was retired back in 2014.

It is important not to assume as that's how incorrect/false information usually spreads.

Stratford has acquired another second hand bus. They acquired a used New Flyer D40LF numbered 0337. The lady driver wasn't impressed with me taking photos of her bus, she called dispatch 🤣.

Is it a lease or was it purchased? And was it painted or all white?

Never seen the day where Stratford buys a New Flyer. A photo perhaps to show or is she plain white?

It was parked at Cityview a good month ago or so with the Stratford decals and an advertisement. Must have been there for some repairs/warranty if that was part of whatever deal was made. Looks sharp!

I wonder if it is a lease until 1169 returns from repairs. If they bought it outright, that would be very interesting since it's mainly Nova and one or two EZ Riders.

Took a trip down with a few friends. Can confirm that 0761 is the last EZ Rider in their fleet. 9766 is also now retired as well. According to the supervisor, 9767 might be next to go. 0862 went for an E-Test after we arrived. Their terminal is very friendly for photos if the sun is in the right spot. 0337 is a lease for a few more months.

Stratford has acquired a 2004 Nova Bus numbered 0576 which is believed to be former Coach USA & Coach Canada 4975. They have also acquired a 2009 Eldorado EZ Rider II MAX numbered 0977 which is from Niagara Falls (number unknown at this time). They also acquired former Niagara Falls 2983 which may enter service or be used as parts.

The unit in service should be former Niagara 2982.  Both 82 and 83 were purchased off Gov Deals.

Note: Is it really a smart idea to be travelling right now?  Especially a restricted area such as a bus garage?  I find it very foolish to be doing that and it gives us transit enthusiasts a bad name.  Smarten up.

A number of Stratford Transit related items on today's council agenda:

  • Purchase 4 Nova LFS buses -  will replace the remaining 1997 Nova LFS buses (9764, 65, 67, 73) being purchased through Metrolinx TPI.
  • Purchase 1 Mobility bus - will replace the 2006 mobility bus (VT8/0608), being purchased from Overland Custom Coach through Metrolinx TPI.
  • Upgraded GPS/AVL System - will replace existing hardware on buses and allow for real time information, being purchased from Consat through Metrolinx TPI.
  • Updated Fareboxes - entire fleet to have updated fareboxes from Garival.
  • On Demand Sunday service - software from Pantonium to convert current fixed route Sunday service to on demand service, using 2 buses instead of the current 3. This is the same system that is currently used for Belleville's late night service.

Seems Stratford may have acquired another bus or has been numbered in the system wrong.  Bus 9991 is currently on route 5 along with 1370.

Not even Stratford would have purchased a 21 year old bus, especially considering the many newer options on the market. Plus, they are not up to unit 91 yet (newest purchased unit was #78).

I suspect it is more a case of one unit having a new GPS unit installed that wasn't reprogrammed with the proper unit number. Are there any known active units that haven't tracked in service in the last little while?
