TTC Orion VII Movement List

Order a couple of mobile scaffolds, make sure the techs are trained up and they’re basically set.

Nothing specifically blocks them from running any.

I see. Makes sense. Nova LFS Diesel and Nova LFS HEVs do share alot of similar characteristics (so probably won't take much to onboard those techs vs. training someone brand new)

The training is the same for a seasoned coach tech or a new hire. All must pass it before ascending to the roof of any hybrid, and can be accomplished in a couple of days. Most of the guys there bid in from other divisions for better shifts/off days and already have it.

The essence of it is how not to electrocute yourself, and which mistakes lead to open casket Vs closed casket funerals (proper PPE)

The holidays are a time of reduced service, you wouldn't see every bus out in service anyway. If some of these buses have higher mileage than others this time is perfect to set them aside and even out the mileage.

That's not what I meant...

I was asking if they will eventually join Malvern. Only basing this cause 3502, 3506, 3509 moved so it seems like they will but just a matter of when i suppose

I know what you asked.

But you based your question on the fact that some of the buses have not moved in all of two days. This is not significant and happens all the time. Sundays are when the least amount of buses run, there is no reason to assume you'd see anywhere close to the entire fleet out. Not to mention, during the holidays they probably have less personnel as more people are taking vacations, so they have less people they can assign to frivolous duties like bus movements.

Given the TTC appears to have made every effort to keep the LFSes organized by fleet number, it seems credible to assume the rest will move to Malvern in due course.

Also, wrong thread?

I mean in a way yes and no, generally it's also a sign buses are being moved from Malvern. Last time, Orion NGs moved in exchange for the LFS HEVs

1378 is at Wilson. It had returned to Mt Dennis from JET earlier in the day before transferring.

It was mentioned already that 1359 and 1378 were being moved to Wilson after they get their repairs completed.

But the physical location 1378 had not moved until earlier in week. Planned movements haven’t superseded actual movements in the past. 1359’s location isn’t even properly pinging since the bus got pushed north of the wall earlier in the week

Does Arrow ops remember how to operate them? 🤣

Isn't it a safety concern if a driver can't operate it correctly/safely? I'm wondering if that's a risk ttc took or if it doesn't matter since they might already know how to operate them

If I recall, they are technically supposed to be trained on all models that are currently in use...

I'm saying this because I've seen a Arrow op via his social media one time go to recertification courses using equipment from Wilson one time (such as a Orion VII 3G).

All ops have Orion training. They might not have artic or Nova hybrid training. But they should all have Orion Diesel and hybrid training.

If that's the case then why are wilson ops being currently trained on operating lfs hybrids? We had them for 3 years.

Yes, but the LFS HEV have only been based at 2 of the 8 bus garages. Meaning the 75% of operators that are not based out of Arrow or Malvern don't get them.

The short duration of their time at TTC means that any operator that was hired more than 4 years ago would have never received training on LFS HEVs unless they were based at the two divisions containing them (driver movements between divisions are not super common). So any Wilson ops who joined the TTC more than 4 years ago will need to be trained.

That makes sense, but wouldn't also mean any arrow op who came after summer 2019 might not know how to operate them?
