1680 looks like it’s been parked at Wilson Garage for a bit over a day as it sits in the north yard of the facility

It's been parked there since the beginning of January.

#1224 is also at Obico from Mount Dennis which means it is allocated to Malvern. Same goes for #1661.

#8079 is back at Queensway.

So while they are at Obico does someone go and start them up and drive them around every few days? I'm sure if they didn't do that it would cause dead batteries and flatspots on the tires.

The ones kept at the front of the line at obico are used for training, while the ones stored at the back (typically the 80s and few remaining 79s without vision) are there for storage.

To answer your question then, the ones only at the front of the line are driven for training. Sometimes in-service training, sometimes just training. Depends on what day the trainees are on.

The Malvern assigned units are started and circle checked at least weekly (usually sundays) wether the trainers used them or not.
I’d imagine Queensway has a similar arrangement for their buses.
