TTC Orion VII Movement List

Recommended Posts

With more 2016 Novas being delivered to Arrow Road so quickly, at this rate, the 12/13/14xxs at Arrow would completely vanish and the series will likely be split with Malvern and Mt. Dennis. What is next for the 7900s at Arrow?

As for the New Eglinton and Birchmount VIIs, I do not know what is next for them seeing Birchmount already has some of the 8100s taken from Wilson.

By next board period, when the new express routes and route restructurings occur, I am getting the feeling more bus movements will shift garage to garage sooner than later.

To top it all off, I wonder what happened to the temporary garage.

Just to put my two cents.

Movements will continue to occur as the 8500s move in. I haven't seen/heard of any newer 8500 arrive lately besides the 8530s there were here. Anyone sighted them?

If you check the math, the express buses and Wilson route reorganization reallocates the current resources mostly and doesn't required any new buses. This is the case for the 185 and 188. I don't expect Eglinton or Queensway to get more buses for these services. By splitting the 25, they are actually running one less bus in AM rush than before. This also occur for the 35/195 split unlike the 198 where more buses were added. Bmount would need +3 for 24E, Arrow needs +7 for 118/186 and Malvern needs +2 for the 199. This only applies for morning rush since it's the busiest period where all the buses are used up.

It nice to see Arrow would get more runs in the morning. Since the major bus shortage/backlog at Arrow last year and loosing the 37, they operated 20 less buses. Bmount could see a few more 8100s, Malvern would get a couple hybrids, Wilson will get hybrids to cover their lost of 8100s and that's about it. Arrow would probably need to get 10-15 more 8500s in service soon.

Birchmount also got more buses when they inherited the 94 from MtD last year (and the 21 from Malvern in 2012) around the time when the 74-78xx VIIs completed rebuilt. Same issue with Malvern when they lost the 190 and the 26 moved from Qswy to MtD that period. Don't expect any route reassignments from division to division happening for a while. However, there could be another change in June if the proposed Cherry Street (121/514) restructuring will be implemented.

1374 is back at Arrow. It's currently on 36.

I actually think 1374 helped out MTD with an 89 run that morning and continued on the 165 later. Strange.

Arrow helps out other division's overnight routes all the time. Occasional you'll find an arrow artic on the 329 too.

That sped up the process so quick. Aside from the Novas, they needed more units for the 188? Are there any more buses next to move for new express services after Easter?

The number of D40LFs out of service for repairs (or retirement) has been increasing. As more new Novas enter service at Arrow, they need to ship buses out to make room, and increasing the spare ratio at Queensway is probably a good way to handle it.
