TTC Orion VII Movement List

Recommended Posts

Oh than i think there was error on the list

.

.

The list is full of errors. Some of the buses have been sitting at Hillcrest for ages and is still listed at a garage. If it came from a garage to Hillcrest, it doesn't mean it will return there. Some of the Queensway rebuilts went back to Arrow.

To help fix the front page, here are the list of changes needed, I mentioned 4 units that has been at Hillcrest for a considerable amount of time too.

1256 retired long time ago, it shouldn't be listed at Arrow anymore

*1273 has been sitting at Hillcrest since January not MtD

1364 has been at Arrow for a long time now

1512 was at Arrow when it was last operation, this is like late August

1671 also retired, it shouldn't be listed at MtD anymore. The burnt up frame is rotting at Hillcrest since 2011.

*1726 same story as 1273 but been at Hillcrest for longer

7686 is at Eglinton, not Bmount. Been like that since Pan Am

*7940 same story as 1273 and 1726. At Hillcrest since last Nov.

7958 is at Arrow after being rebuilt

*8010 hit a truck on the 427 during the summer and is at Hillcrest for a long stay

*same story for 7807. It parked at Hillcrest with retired hybrids and will repared will front of retired transit winsdor orion VII

Just want to make question that is 7592 was at wilson for testing and parked at hillcrest with it(when harvey shop open house in last sept). It is now back at Eglinton?

7-8 94xx's were used on the YUS shuttle last Saturday and that rarely happened before.

What are the reasons for bus shortage if comparing with a year before when in 2014

1) there was no 84xx Novas but there were some 7000s and 7200s which generally stayed in yards.

2) More 7900s and 8000s were in rebuild program, now the rebuild program is winding down.

I am not surprise there. Last weekend, a driver from Birchmount said there were no buses available for changeoff due to the subway shuttle.

The 7900's and 8000's rebuild program may be winding down, but it doesn't end there. The 1000's are concurrently undergoing their rebuild program as well. Approximately 10 units from what we've heard so far in another thread.

That's cause the TTC does major bus maintenance on weekends. The required buses on weekends are lower but more of them are sidelined on weekends. You also have forgotten Tory's initiatives of having more off peak services. This contributes to less buses available on weekends and higher maintenance work on buses. That also cut their maintenance time as those buses are on the road instead of sitting in the garage.

Second, those artics are becoming white elephants. They are useless during weekends. Malvern doesn't put them on the 85 on Saturdays, the 320 on Sunday morning doesn't get them either. Only Wilson makes use of them 7 days a week (probably due to their bus shortage). Otherwise for Malvern, Arrow and MtD, it puts stress on their 40ft buses. It's like having 100 less buses available on weekends.

TTC buses are busier these days than it was in 2014. Look at how many 9400s are out today.

I got a scare when I checked Transsee today and saw a lot of Wilson V's out. I thought my browser opened up to yesterday's list of 9400's :P

It was about a month ago when Malvern artics began to go on 85 on Saturdays. They should be used on weekends to reduce the strain on hybrids.

And that happened only once so far. Same story with the 320.

No artics made it out on the 85 today either.

I would like to know where you the source KD1570 regarding the repair using the front end of a retired transit windsor orion VII

https://www.flickr.com/photos/dangsunm/21559670351/in/album-72157658842262861/

While the Harvey shop open house, inside the repair garage the TTC employee in the harvey shop says "This vehicle will be repaired with the using parts of The bus shown in there (Which is winsdor Orion VII retired due to fire) ". You can see the picture of it from my Flickr what do they displayed when Harvey shop open house.

If that's wrong... well than TTC's employee told wrong info to visitors

So ... Arrow is moving Hybrids to Wilson as they receive move NOVAs

As Wilson receives Hybrids they retire 9400s

Seems too by October moves that Birchmount and Queensway show a net loss in buses

Am I missing something?

Arrow didn't gain any buses, they lost hybrids while they gain some 7900s and new 8400s.

Wilson gain hybrids and some 8100s while loosing 9400s.

Queensway didn't lose much, they always had about 180 buses. The 8000 rebuilds are returning so they can return the 7900s they borrowed from Arrow,

Bmount lost a few buses, but they also aren't doing the 22 this board. Eglinton took over with the 22/70 interlined route.
