Xtrazsteve
Do you have a link to that? Back in the procurement report for the 108 buses: https://ttc.ca/About_the_TTC/Commission_reports_and_information/Commission_meetings/2015/July_29/Reports/Purchase-108_Fourty_Foot_Low_Floor%20Clean_Diesel-Buses.pdf It says the 2017 order will be reported back to the board in the future. They don't want to hand it to Nova just yet. In the comments, they said they were negotiating with New Flyer to make them able to bid. So if TTC does want to get another 100 or so buses, they'll either have to open it up for bidding again or arrange with Nova for a new option possibly at a different price. Or this could be TTC's doing to prevent Nova from hiking their price for being the sole supplier that meets TTC standards.

dayone
1201, 1203, 1204, 1207 and 1208 are at Malvern. Also shows that 1258-1261, 1263, 1265-1267, 1271, 1275, 1276, 1280, 1286, 1288 are at Malvern. Some like 1264, 1268, 1269 were already at Malvern. Arrow has less than 100 hybrids now. All these recent movements to Malvern would help verify the large number of Malvern hybrids I see at Hillcrest on the sammdot.ca tracker and also showing up at odd places like Lake Ontario and near Barrie. But 20-25 units from one garage going for rebuild is a lot unless the tracker is wrong.

But 20-25 units from one garage going for rebuild is a lot unless the tracker is wrong. You have to use some logic when your using such tracker. Sometimes the GPS unit get lost (lack of stop announcement is a good indicator) so they can appear in Lake Ontario or in Barrie but physically isn't there. It also takes 20 minutes to get a bus from MtD to Hillcrest, so if it's more than an hour old, the bus could have moved. Technically anything more than a day old isn't valid information anymore. 20-25 buses is not a lot. They do up to 35-40 buses at one time in various stage of the rebuilt. If they rebuilt 10 buses at a time, it would have taken years before they rebuild all 150 buses. With more capital spares coming in this year, fleet plannings allows up to 50 buses to be rebuilt at the same time. As TTC plans to separate body from mechanical rebuilds, there will be up to 50 buses at Hillcrest at the same time in the next few years. If you haven't taken the hint yet, not everything written on the internet is correct.

dayone
Of course I don't believe a bus could be in Lake Ontario or up north Bus_Medic last said 5 units each from Malvern and Mount Dennis would be sent for rebuild. So going from 10* to 20-25 seemed like a big jump. Also I didn't know how many rebuilds Hillcrest could handle at the same time. * I meant 5 Edited February 8, 2016 by dayone
FlyerD901
All the 1800 are at Wilson. Also there's still a few 1000s at Bmount. I don't remember exactly how much but at least

The rebuilt process is an assembly line, they start up slow but would ramp up.

Bus_Medic
Seems like the case. What puzzles me is why Queensway need the Novas now. The 7900s + 8000s total 180 buses plus they have the flyers. The current 2016 Nova order isn't here to replace the flyers but instead to increase the capacity spares to 18%. Another order in 2017 will include 50 buses to replace the flyers. What's pretty much set in stones is the fact that Novas will replace the flyers since it makes no sense to train Queensway operators to another type of bus even if TTC does get some new flyers. I'm thinking they might send the 7900s and some 8000s to the new temporary garage. The temp garage will likely not get hybrids nor new buses for good reasons. The S50s are stuck at Eglinton and Bmount for good. The 8300s aren't moving cause they need urea. More 8100s will move to Bmount. That leaves the 7900s and some 8000s that can be moved to the new garage. Malvern and MtD are stuck with what they got. Wilson will get more hybrids from Arrow, they are at 60+ now. It is safe to assume the temp garage will get one type of bus. you're logic is flawed. TheAverageJoe
Unless Gillig may get up to the canadian market? No need to . They are doing well in the US market with the Orion pull out. Why do you think they moved to a new plant that is bigger.

leylandvictory2
storage most likely. You have to train operators on how to drive hybrid buses as they are slightly different then diesel.
