TJ Oshie scores twice while Braden Holtby makes 24 saves for the shutout as the Capitals blank the Lightning 3-0 and force a game 7 back in Tampa Bay on Wednesday.

The NHL has announced the Stanley Cup Finals will begin Monday, May 28th.

Andre Burakovsky scores twice while Braden Holtby makes 29 saves for his second straight shutout as the Capitals blank the Lightning 4-0 in game 7.

Holtby becomes the 11th goaltender in NHL history to post a shutout in game 7 on the road.

With the victory, the Capitals advance to their first Stanley Cup Final in 20 years.

Totally agree. Unlike you, though, I think the two teams would be head-butting their way to a Game 7, in which Vegas would end up victorious in and Fleury be crowned MVP.

 Capitals are just one win away from their first Stanley Cup after exploding for 3 goals in the 1st period en route to a 6-2 thumping over the Golden Knights.

Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nicklas Backstrom combined for 7 assists. Dating back to the regular season, Kuznetsov has 50 points over his last 34 games.

Interestingly enough in that last game, all of the Caps' 6 goals were scored by different players and Ovi was not among them. Rare!

Lars Eller scores the game-winner and Alex Ovechkin is named the Conn Smythe Trophy winner.

That's wonderful news for the Caps and coach Barry Trotz.  I wonder if he'll win the Jack Adams Trophy for that feat.

Senators have placed forward Alexandre Burrows on unconditional waivers for purpose of buyout.

Penguins have re-signed Bryan Rust to a 4-year contract.

Note: I will have to work on Canada Day so I really won't be able to come on here that often to post signings and re-signings as I normally do.

Tampa Bay won't cause they need to re-sign some players soon. He should have went to a team that legitimately needs him.. ahem Montreal.
