6360: 75 Tunney's Pasture had a medical emergency at Dominion at 5:50 this morning. My 57 Tunney's Pasture (43xx) and the articulated 61 Tunney's Pasture behind picked up the passengers, and got everyone to Tunney's.

8104: 73 Leikin at Tunney's Pasture at 06:20.

6397 deadheading SB on Holland at Wellington at 17:39. Bus was signed up as a 235 Gardenway (a mechanic was driving the bus)

8103: 66 Gatineau at Tunney's Pasture at 17:59. Heard from someone that the bus smelled like burnt plastic inside when it was out for its morning/midday run.

the rear NSAS display seems to be broken... it isn’t displaying anything

6388: 252 Fernbank at Tunney's at 18:37 (bus had an oversized "6" on the front interior fleet number, and the NSAS at the back was still dead)

Saw a few Double Deckers while on a walk this evening:

81xx was deadheading Eastbound on Robertson and Moodie around 20:00 (too far away to get the exact fleet number);

80xx was on the 57 Tunney's Pasture at Robertson and Fitzgerald at 20:10 (too far away to get the exact fleet number);

8056 -> 88 Terry Fox at Robertson and Fitzgerald at 20:22.

6464 still doesn't have it's Coronavirus policy decals on it nor tape to bar entry at the front.

I now know the story behind why that double decker (you saw) was on Route 164 Hope Side.

There was a scheduling error on Route 64 when the runs were being created. Route 64 going westbound when leaving Tunney's Pasture is usually suppose to have an immediate return trip back to Tunney's Pasture from Innovation Park and Ride. What happened was that some runs on Route 64 westbound to Kanata after completing the "Morgan's Grant community loop" (i.e. from Innovation Park and Ride to Innovation Park and Ride) did NOT get scheduled to do a return trip on Route 64 Tunney's Pasture. However, there would have been a different run (i.e. another bus) doing the Route 64 Tunney's Pasture from Innovation. The consequence is that customers boarding a Route 64 in the "Morgan's Grant community loop" would have been forced to exit the bus at Innovation, then board another Route 64 to continue further towards Tunney's Pasture. The implication was that the Route 64 Tunney's Pasture at Innovation Park and Ride could possibly depart before the previous Route 64 from the "Morgan's Grant community loop" arriving.

An adjustment had to be made on a number of affected runs to correct that error.

This double decker run was affected because originally that run after completing.Route 64 going to Kanata was scheduled to do a return trip to Tunney's Pasture on a different route (Route 66), and then another one-way trip on Route 64 to Kanata without doing a return trip to Tunney's Pasture. With the correction/adjustment made, this run would do a trip westbound on Route 64 to Kanata (as originally scheduled), a return trip on Route 64 Tunney's Pasture (revised/corrected), and then a trip on Route 164 Hope Side (revised to make up whatever run that was originally scheduled to do that specific trip on Route 164).

Therefore, expect to see a double decker on that Route 164 until the special COVID-19 service levels (special booking) are no longer needed.

I'm not sure whether or not there was an error with Route 63.

Based on the headway sheets, that error does not exist on the 63. All westbound trips end at Innovation, and the eastbound trips loop the community on its way to Tunney's Pasture.

However, based on the headway sheets again, westbound trips that end at Innovation then continue as eastbound trips that loop the Morgan's Grant community. No discrepancies I can find.

Yesterday I saw 4454 signed up as "57 Hospital". Seems that they're starting early with the destination sign change

That date was set as a deadline for when all buses should be programmed.

There might be a possibility that some double decker buses assigned to "Loose Extras" (additional Extras that are were not scheduled as part of the Booking).

Today, bus 8059 was on two different routes this afternoon: Was on Route 12 Blair after 3pm at Mack Bridge; and again on Route 35 Esprit on the 16:16 trip leaving Blair Station (which I rode to Place d'Orleans).

While there are no scheduled trips on Route 12 with double decker buses when the timetables were created that went into effect on March 30, it might be possible that it was doing one of the additional trips that was introduced today.

6545 running #2/R2 just went by on Bronson spewing red fluid out the back a few minutes ago. Saw it get to at least Carling and turn, not sure if it continued past there. Was dribbling out in a sheet over the rear bumper, looked like whatever it was it was going to run out pretty quickly.

Red Fluid is coolant. 40 footers usually have 76 litres, give or take. Being a 60 footer it likely has more.

It can run for a while before it becomes an actual issue, but it will become an issue, just not immediately.

I saw 4694 with the R1 decals removed this morning, however, ad rack sign was still in place.

Interesting, considering the current booking calls for less buses so I wonder why they didn’t just use another non-R1 bus...

Nice pic btw.

No facts, just gussing, but I'm gussing they want to use mainly Novas instead of the aging Hybrids and Inveros. Kinda like back in the day where before retirement, they mainly ran HF buses during peak hours when they needed to, to slow down ware. I'm sure @Enviro_1203 would have a better guess or explanation.

Also, May 21 spottings:

4604 Training (Trainyards @ 10:36 AM)
4744 Training (Hwy. 417/Main @ 10:44 AM)
8122 > 85 Gatineau (Lincoln Fields @ 12:13 PM)
