Buses in the snow

:P:):( I love Depew. So how late was "Late 48"? :D

Train 48 was 3 hours and 10 minutes late. It was late leaving Chicago the previous evening because it was held up for passengers connecting from the California Zephyr. It lost even more time as a result of the snow knocking out the power to the signals. (Yes, I did ride 48 from Chicago to Depew.)

This was the third time I had ridden 48 and the 5th time riding the Lake Shore. The two other times I rode train 48, it was 25-30 minutes late into Depew. (Not too bad.)

49 is a different story. THe first time I rode it, we arrived in Chicago 3 hours late. The second time, we were only 80 minutes late.

Lucky you :P

I have only seen 48 three times, and it has been at least 2 hours late all of them :) Once it pulled in at 1030 and the police arrived to sort out a brawl between two disgruntled passengers. It finally left at 1110.

The scheduled time is around 0730, with a relatively short smoking stop?

The scheduled time is about 7:05 am. I don't know if it's a smoking stop for 48. I didn't see anyone smoking at either of the three times I've ridden 48.

Seen here at Oshawa Centre, 8319 was formally ex-Queens Surface, so therefore it did not camed with the rear door:

And here's at the end point of route 17 Taunton/start point on route 18 Rossland East in Whitby. Intersection is at Rossland and Country Lane:

West Coast Guys, I'm sure you'll reconized the two LFS was there earlier this year.

As of my last line, unfortunatly the snow did not last long. The temp. is in a plus side, but was interesting for me on the day to do photograph.

Nice work Sherman! Good to see the "old friends" again!

For those who don't know what's going on..............DRT #8172 and #8173 are former Translink diesel particulate filter test buses P1001 and P1002!
