The 85J branch is very specific and is known as the branch that runs in parallel to the subway. If one would have said 85A, it would imply the branch between DM and Rouge Hill. I prefer the use of 85J plus ttc.ca lists this branch as 85J on the schedule. So it's public used.

There are other branches that are not publicly used such as 85G Sheppard-Yonge to Rouge Hill. Although Transit Toronto or ttc.ca never mentions such scheduled trip, one trip is scheduled on every weekday at 5am before the subway opens. This trip is interlined with the 95 and never operates with an artic. This trip is trackable on nextbus as the 85G but is not mention on ttc.ca. Those who use it knows about it while everyone else don't.

The 85C is another common branch (DM to Meadowvale) but is always know as the 85 in public. When TTC did the system wide branch renaming, the did not rename the 85 into something else. So 85, 85A, 85B and 85D are publicly shown in EB direction while 85 and 85A is shown in WB.

1351 Broke down on the 133 Neilson bus bay at Scarborough Centre Station before I got to Scarborough Centre Station at 3:05PM and was sitting there when I left at 6:25PM after hitting the YMCA.  The engine compartment door was open and some white stuff was sprayed on the engine obscuring parts of the hourmeter.

!-Apparently, a supervisor told me a passenger fainted onboard that bus when it terminated at Kennedy Station around 2:20PM so it was shut down until the paramedics took the patient out of the station to a hospital.

4021, 4041, and 4194 out on 514. Where are the LFLRVs?

4041 has some additional oddities in addition to (or because of) the AC Alien perched on the roof. LED spotlights in the roof lighting up the rear stairwell. (It's not often I ride this car.)
