SmartTrack is not such a great improvement - Scarborough will be going from 5 SRT stops to 2 new SmartTrack stops and 1 new Subway stop
The way I see it; West Toronto is getting an LRT in place of a $4 billion SmartTrack West, and East Toronto is getting $4 billion for a couple of extra GO stations and a slower GO RER instead of subway stations
There was nothing wrong with Metrolinx plans for GO RER before John Tory came along
John - Scrap SmartTrack East and build us a proper three or four stop subway extension
It's $4 billion just for SmartTrack East - $4 billion would build the two cancelled stops on the SSE, pay for the overruns on the 1-stop SSE and the Crosstown East LRT, and build a Markham Road LRT connecting Eglinton GO, Centennial College, Malvern Centre, and STC
