Add following to PACE roster: 6323-6376 2012-13 Eldorado Axess 40' transit 6377-6391 2012-13 Eldorado Axess 40' suburban (1 plug door, high back seats) 6392-6399 2013 Eldorado Axess 40' transit 6951-6963 2013 MCI D4000's delete following - all now retired: Orion 1's 22-2300's NABI's in 2400's Cutaways 0001-0005 renumbered 1951-1955, from Downers Grove to main fleet

Let's get the EDN Axxess serials straightened out here: 6395 is EC084165 and is apparently the former Altoona test bus 6396-6399 are EC084067-EC08470 6400 is EC084066 and was likely delivered as 6395 (1st) "2014" order was for 91 buses. 6401-6412,6414-6484 have been delivered for a total of 83. 6395 (2nd) is probably considered a 2014 delivery, for a total of 84. So far no sign of 6485-6491. In addition, CNG Axxesses 15500-15512,15514-15520 have been delivered in late 2014, but are not yet in service for lack of fueling facility, which is still under construction. In addition, 8 MCI's 6964-6971 were delivered and 6900-6907 have or will soon be retired

  5. Bits and pieces regarding PACE: Started as "Regional Transportation Authority" in 1976. Renamed "Suburban Bus Division" 1982, bought West Towns Bus Co, Suburban Transit System, South Suburban Safeway Lines, Waukegan-North Chicago Transit, Aurora Transit System, Elgin City Lines, Joliet Mass Transit District various dates 1983, took over North Suburban Mass Transit District services (but district survived), Highland Park Transit, Wilbus in mid-80's. Roster notes: 001-005 International/ElDorado AeroElite 32' midibuses - apparently actually 0001-0005 (one more zero) HOWEVER - gone from 5/12 roster! 2401-2422, 2453 NABI - 2453 long gone, was originally a demo? Several others gone now also 6156-6161 OBI are 2004. Delivery delayed almost 2 years while penalty issues settled 6162-6233 2002's, 6234-6261 are 2003's per vin's 6910-6917 should be 6910-6912,6914-6919 ex Greyhound? 102DL3's from 1997-2000 761-766 Flxibles - owned by NORTRAN, leased to Wilbus originally, later to PACE ownership, moved to Highland Park 146-165 5307's - 160 wrecked early 401-474 5307's - 467 wrecked early 701-755 5307's - 701,706-708,711-712,714-721,723-729,731-732,734,736-744,746-749,753-755 were rebuilt, 702,706-707,711-712,714-718,720-721,723-726,728-729,731-732,736,738-744,746-747,753-755 to CTA. These (and Safeway 5303's 594-611) were owned by Chicago South Suburban Mass Transit District until scrapped or sold to CTA, leased to Safeway and later RTA/PACE. 702 wrecked early, 717 wrecked soon after rebuilding. 801-890 ex West Towns - 807,885 wrecked early, 801-806,810,815,821,827 repainted, 808-809,811-814,816-817,819-920,822-826,828-832 full rebuilds. Add West Towns TDH4509's 757,760,761,763,765-767,769-777,780-782. They were kept on the roster by West Towns to "pad the valuation" until 1982 and immediately scrapped by RTA except for 771 which was kept as a relic. They were last used about 1979 when several were loaned to Michigan City Municipal Coach, where they ran in appalling condition (rear doors wide open, with only a rope blocking the hole, transmissions not connected to shift lever). add 901-903 1976 Mercedes 0309D, 1901-1908 1984 Chace RT50, 1911 1980 Chance RT50 (used from ? in 1991, serial 80-7079). Mercedes for Bensenville, Chances for Niles.   6. Two corrections for PACE (IL): 1993 01.508's are 2292-2312,2314-2377 2010 EZ Rider II's are 2767-2812, 2814-2825 (58 buses - remember Pace does not use 13!) This completes order for 222 units - largest EZ Rider II fleet anywhere?
  7. Few corrections to PACE roster: Pace has had a thing about "13" numbers over the years. 8713 was the last one. So there is no 2513, no 2613, no 2713, etc. There are 130 2600's. 1st batch was 102 buses (2600-2612, 2613-2702). 2nd batch was 40, 2703-2712, 2714-2743. Orcer was for 222, so 80 to go. These supposedly will be 35-foot instead of 30 foot. Old buses actually redone in RTA/Pace colors: Safeway: 603, 40 of 701-755 (one destroyed prior to rebuild, 14 not redone and scrapped). 33 later to CTA. Nortran 401-474 - most, but not all, repainted PACE. 162 and 166 (5304's) were repainted also Elgin - 1040-1043, 1051-1053, 1061-1067 Wilmette 761-765 (later at Waukegan) West Towns 801-832 - 5 repainted, 25 fully rebuilt, 1 scrapped, 1 not repainted or redone Suburban Transit - 146-165 19 of 20 repainted Suburban Transit 5301's and 5303's were never operated under PACE. When 146-165 came in 1974, the older bowls were relgated to charter and school work only. None of Joliet's were ever redone. Also as trivia, Joliet Mass Transit District was NOT a mas transit district at all, but a City of Joliet department! MTD was never voted on.
