The particulate filter is a 2007 emission standard. The DE41LFs and DE60LFRs are 2006s. I don't know which "newer vent" you are talking about here.... the one on the door side is just an air intake vent for the engine. The extra slits outside of the exhaust "chimney" on the drivers side are to increase the ventilation because when the exhaust is being regenerated, the temperature of the exhaust system is really high.
